5.9K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. One of my heroes was an engineer who worked at a major aerospace corporationwhere my dad was a top machinist. Mr. Freeman offered to give me my first guitar lessons when I was eleven. He came to our lily white neighborhood in 1965 during the times of the Watts riots.
He was a tall, slender black man with a cool goatee. He was kind, patient and more educated, refined and cosmopolitan than my parents or anyone I had ever met.
Come to find out, he was a master flamenco guitarist and had traveled to Spain twice to study the art, but he could play anything on a guitar. I'll bet he could play jazz like a fiend.Anyway, he grew up during segregation, became an aerospace engineer and a master guitarist. He had no chips on his shoulders.
Because of my mom, I was already opposed to segregation. I had never met a black man but I came to greatly admire Mr. Freeman. Whether he knew it or now, he was an ambassador from the black community. After meeting him, I could never be prejudiced against someone just because they were black.
I started high school in the fall of 1969 after they had started desegregation and busing. I marched for the civil rights movement. I had black friends and band mates in high school.
When I was 26, I got a job as a motor vehicle damage field adjuster/appraiser. Many of my coworkers, including managers, were black. I became very good friends with some, both men and women. I dated one black lady. Some of the people there reminded me of Mr. Freeman. They were educated and totally cool.
Working in the field at that job, I went into all parts of Los Angeles County, including communities that were traditionally black and were economically depressed. Some of them would be considered bad parts of town.
But I got along great with everyone and never had a problem, probably because I considered everyone to be just like me.
I enthusiastically voted for Mr. Hope and Change, Barak Obama when he first ran. Then he went back on all his campaign promises and became Dubya II.
In the 2010s, my wife and I had been members of a liberal, nondenominational, Unitarian Universalist church since 2002. But latte liberals from San Francisco began retiring to our area and joining the congregation. These were people with advanced college degrees who had worked in the corporate world.
They moved into expensive homes and gated communities but strongly supported BLM and started buying into the newly popularized notions of white privilege and white fragility. These most privileged of white people didn't give up one fraction of their lifestyles, but they fawned over any black people they met and preached the idea that whites, especially non-Democrats, were racist. Yet they thought they knew all about the black experience and how to help them. It was laughable.
When I didn't enthusiastically agree with all their brain fevered notions, they acted like I was racist. LOL I think they were virtue signaling to conceal their own unaddressed fear of minorities and racist attitudes.
Those blindly loyal Democrats swallowed every "woke" notion that came along - "TQI+", covid mandates and jabs, climate change, electric vehicles, TDS, ... you name it. And anyone who didn't agree with every aspect of every issue was ostracized. There was no room for free thought or differing opinions.
My wife and I eventually left officially in 2020.
What's funny is, along with my remaining liberal friends, the ones who are intelligent and informed, I have a lot more conservative friends now.
Those conservatives have the same attitudes toward race as do I. They love black music and black culture, hate racism, don't treat blacks differently than anybody else, and have black friends. But brainwashed Democrat bigots would assume that they are racist just because they self-identify as conservative, vote Republican, and support Donald Trump.
So I'll take whatever Democrat hypocrits say about Trump with less than a grain of salt.20 Reply

He was a Democrat for years before he saw what they were doing and shifted to the Republican team in the 80s. I remember him saying if he ever ran it'd be as a Republican because it's an easier party to convince to vote for you. The Demoncrats will try to twist that the same way they try to make John Wayne sound racist because of one interview.
But they can't get away from the racist past of the party. Klan. Jim Crow. Segregation. All leftist policies from the Demoncratic party.
Only two Dems I'd vote for. Carter and JFK. If RFK Jr had been allowed to be the democrats candidate he'd probably be President now - but he talks sense and isn't "woke".
DJT is still the only President whose entire family history doesn't include slave owners. Let that sink in. No president before or after DJT can claim that.22 Reply- 1 y
And yet it doesn't occur to you that his daughter is Jewish by marriage and his chief business advisor for decades was Jewish.
Just because he appoints based on merit not melanin doesn't make him racist. Also worth noting that wanting secure borders and to protect the nation of which he's President doesn't make him a fascist.
Fascists, historically, engage in muzzling free speech, banning platforms known for criticising them and promoting people wholly unsuitable and incapable to positions of power where they either become puppets or paranoid dictators.
They strip individual rights and promote state ownership of anything remotely likely to allow independence from the state and tend to be the ones that want to disarm the general population.
I live in South Africa. When I moved here you could buy bolt action.303 rifles in the classifieds without a license and unlimited ammunition. The borderline communist ANC is now trying to make it impossible for Armed Security companies to get anything more deadly than a BB gun, and limit how much ammunition they can hold to a "reasonable amount".

2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. OMG! It seems like everyone is a racist and are called a racist even though the person is not a racist.
The word ""racist" has lost its true meaning because people have over used that word and now it doesn't mean anything to me anymore. It was taken out of context as soon as Biden was our president and it just continued throughout his presidency and now they are continuing to use it and accuse innocent people of being a racist when they aren't.
President Trump is not a racist. And even if he or I were called racist people - so what? What are they going to do about it except call us racist at the drop of a hat!
People don't serve jail time just because someone calls them a racist. So BFD!!17 Reply- 1 y

And you're not dead yet. Give it some time and maybe they won't say you are a racist to your face, but say it behind your back. Ya never know...🤷🏼♀️ - 1 y
@exirsevven
I thought you said that you haven't been called a racist. So scratch my reply to you.
I was never called a racist until Biden came into office. I find it remarkable that they never called us that until the Democrats started calling everyone that.
Whatever!! If they continue to call me a racist then I guess I will be one right?
It's no skin off my butt.

Everybody knows tRump is a racist. Only the drugged and delusional would deny it.
*tRump called for the death penalty for the Central Park Five even though they were innocent. He has never apologized for his idiocy.
*tRump called Third World countries "s>>>t hole" nations.
*tRump only deports Latinos while welcoming whites from South Africa, from the Mafia, and from other white countries.
tRump also has a long record of refusing to grant leases to black renters.
Google "Trump makes clueless and insulting claim about Nazi kindness"
tRump is a racist. Small wonder why delusionals of the far right love him.

That guy has no idea what racism means. By his definition, we all practice it day in and day out. I believe German Lopez took a few syllables out of context. Trump didn't refer to the group as rapists but was speaking about certain named people. Somebody should tell old Lopez that Trump has taken to litigation over context meddling.

well. let's listen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TML2cApMueU&t=2s . so, what's the context? what are the names?

He was a lot friendlier than I'd be. He took time to say, "NOT ALL OF THEM." I wouldn't. The small percentage of the millions that have no respect but to come here illegally and prey upon American citizens ruin the reputation for the rest of them to a degree. It's certainly not the other way around. But you liberal, sore losing mongrels sure do love ignoring context. Let me go find you an example.

it must be nice to be a billionaire in a country filled by racist idiots. so willing to accept that a black and brown person is a criminal that has no respect for America but a more more than willing to ignore and even cheer on white billionaires upon American citizens.

well, for one thing, Trump refused to comply for months. as for Trump's claim that they had their guns drawn on them... oof... how much time do you have for us to go grow through Trump's insane and non-factual claims? by the way, you've proven racist with that comment.

His niece, Mary, also confirms that in her book on him. That combined with anecdotal instances over the decades, of things he’s said, or done, PLUS the company he keeps, leads me to conclude that OrangeTurd is a racist as*hole.

There are things called human rights even your constitution incorporates in its words that you're missing or ignoring because of racism. The presumption of innocence and due process are the key concepts you're overlooking (like the regime oligarchs in the white house )
You need to do it right or you're a hypocrite and don't deserve those same "rights". - 1 y
You are the one missing the point. You leftys dongive a crap about all the victims, Americans who've lost up to and including their life due to renegade democrats that took offices through fraudulent means and swung our fkn border wide open. You baby murderers. You are to blame, and you persist in due process for the perpetrators. That's disgusting. Do your virtue signaling elsewhere.

Hey, Mcdickhead, they broke our law by crossing illegally. Just because dumbass biden opened the border, he did so unlawfully. Quit talking, you just make yourself sound all the more ignorant of American ways. The disrespect they have by coming here, getting our money, and free housing while vets live on the street. Go on, boy, you bother me.
