I'm not entirely sure what the requirements are for the FAFSA, but I'm assuming it's similar to the OSAP (Ontario Student Assistance Program) check I got for my school this year.
Personally, with the money I received after my tuition was paid for, I've had to use for all of my school supplies - which included a $700 DSLR camera - and for rent for the next two months. As much as I would like to go through and learn how to drive and become self-sufficient in that respect, I really needed to budget my money to help plan for the months head.
Get a car if you can, but if you are living alone, it might be a good idea to sit down and figure out what you'll need for the school year. (This is, of course, assuming you're not receiving help from parents or if you want to begin the process of weaning yourself off of their support.)

hmmn not be snobby but its called FAFSA not FASFA I'm sure its just a typo lol but it depends how much you get back after your tuition for that semester is covered, they usually mail you a check with the leftover money that's urs to keep, merit aid. I remember my freshman year I got like 1200 bucks but then I got a job and I only got like 200 bucks =/ it depends how much you get back and sure you can buy whatever ud like with it =] cars are pretty expensive these days I only see used cars with a ton of mileage that are like 2-3 grand=/
I wouldn't do that! You might reget that when you need it.
Um Well Fafsa first goes to the school.
Afterwards you are sent the remains. Either direct deposit or check card or whatever.
That Money is yours. You can do anything you please with it.
So yes you can buy a car.
I have my tuition waved Plus I still get fafsa each semester. So ALL of it goes to me.
Yes as someone said your school will get the money first. Afterward whatever is left you will get in a check and you can do whatever you want with it. Keep in mind its still a loan and you're better off returning it to the lender to lessen your debt.

yea you get to pocket what's left after you pay for all the school stuff. If you get under a certain gpa you have to pay it all back though. Its like a 2.0 though so it shouldn't be a problem
Sure... Transportation is one of the things included on the list.
