The rich - how do you spend?

I’ve never been a millionaire, but I do have experience earning thousands of euros effortlessly once upon a time — in a rather unconventional way. If that money had come from a regular 9-to-5 office job or something similar, I would’ve probably thought three or four times before buying anything. So my question is: how do actual rich people decide what’s worth buying? Do you ever feel remorse after spending? I think it’s probably more about having a fishing rod than having the fish. If someone has a reliable income source (like, for example, Bill Gates), then I guess you just dont give a damn

I'm not fantastically rich but I am comfortably better off than most. The first rule is you don't get rich by spending money, so don't buy stuff you don't need. Secondly buy well, cheap stuff breaks quickly and runs more expensive in the long term. If your buying a car have a chat with your local mechanic, he'll give you a better idea of which ones to avoid. Avoid designer goods, they're just for people who feel they need to impress other poor people. Use your judgement to evaluate quality not the label.

Remember the claret rule, If you only drink champagne you'll never enjoy a good claret, don't insist on the presumed best. Money will spent is never wasted, so treat yourself to that concert ticket etc once in a while.

Even if i was rich i would still live a cheap life and not spend like crazy the only “expensive” stuff i would buy would be a new iPhone and a new computer and a ps5

i meant that if you work hard for it, it should "hurt" to go and spend 2k on a ring but if you get it effortlessly..

from what i have seen, the rich usually spent their time acquiring more money. They buy yachts and expensive vacation homes but are too busy to actually use them.
