1 yGDP = C + I + G + ((X − M))
where C = expenditures, I= gross private investment, G = government purchases, and (X – M) = net exports (X= Exports and M = Imports)
It’s basic math. Prior to tariff announcements there was a surge of imports in anticipation of tariff volatility which artificially inflated M in comparison to X and DOGE consulting lead to cuts in government purchases reducing the value of G. Over the next several quarters M will shrink in comparison to X due to stockpiles already existing stateside in warehouses, heavy tariffs imposed on China making imports prohibitive, retailers looking for domestic suppliers as exports increase as new trade deals with receptive nations that aim to balance trade deficits take effect after negotiations conclude, I will also increase due to gross private investments which have already been announced publicly but need to actually be implemented. In the mid range, taxation may be reduced which would also boost consumption C. I don’t know why Democrats would need help with basic addition. I guess left wing schools are worse than advertised.

If you put it in pictures, cartoons or graphs I think it makes it easier for the MAGAs to understand since literacy or comprehension doesn't seem to be there strong point.
But to answer your question, this is a non-comprehensive list of who will get blamed:
Biden, Wuhan labs, the deep state, paper straws, Canada, black lives matter, video games, activist judges, multilingual people, Hollywood, fluoride in the water, revisionist historians, chemtrails, Obama, transgender athletes, China, rigged elections, illegals, anti Christian bias, social media, liberal professors, Jewish space lasers, the federal reserve, Green New deal, the EU, feminism, gun free zones, affirmative action, Marxists, liberal curriculums, lazy millennials, Italian satellites, the fake news, anti semites, the elite 1%, brown people, communists, NATO, vaccines, Muslims, climate change hoax & gay frogs.
I'm sure I missed a few tho...

1 yObviously Biden will still be blamed.
Remember when Trump said grocery prices will go down day one? Maga was so excited! Now they're like "guys this stuff doesn't happen overnight you have to be patient!" Then when the next government comes in and starts fixing all the issues and prices do actually come down they'll say it was Trumps policies finally working 🙃.

I guess we can be glad it’s not a secret army of DEM-paid garden gnomes that enters all the stores at night and changes the price tags, huh? 🤪😂

Prices never come down, the educated know that... they just rise slower

@jamesgoldman no... They come down... Depends what it is really

Never seen a price fall in regular retail

@jamesgoldman agree 💯
Anonymous(36-45)1 yYou know the problem with this country? Some of you want everything and you want it right now. If my household was heavily in debt and I needed to make changes to make it better, there would be pain. I wouldn't be able to continue the same lifestyle while I got myself out of debt. Changes don't happen overnight. Have patience and stop expecting instant gratification.

Asker1 yFunny. Were you thinking the same about Biden or Obama? I highly doubt it. They were idiots and Trump is a "stable genius,"? How long do we have to suffer with this self-inflicted insanity before things magically turn around? 1 year? 2 years? 3 years?
Opinion Owner1 yI didn't spend the Obama or Biden years whining either. Maybe it'll turn around, maybe it won't. I can promise you one thing, pissing and moaning and gotcha posts online won't move the needle either way. As of this moment, my situation is no worse, so you can count me out on the doom and gloom.

The previous quarter investment dropped 7%.. If companies were not optimistic about the future this would not be happening.

Both the US consumer index and the small business index have dropped rather drastically in the last few weeks. What do you get exactly from lying all the time to try to make that sack of shit look good?

@Danzigdawson the consumer price index has been dropping for many quarters in a row. I expect it to turn around once new trade deals are signed and companies start hiring again
- 1 y
@exitseven Learn to read, FFS. Consumer price index is not the same as the consumer confidence index, which is what I was talking about. As for the consumer price index, it's been on the rise big time since Trump took office.
tradingeconomics.com/.../consumer-price-index-cpi - 1 y
@Danzigdawson and yet inflation is less. How does that happen?
- 1 y
Inflation has dropped continuously since its "historical" peak in 2021 thanks to Biden's sound economical management. From 7% in 2021 to 3,4% in 2023, to 2,9% in 2024. It's still a little too early to see what kind of boost it will get thanks to Trump's idiotic policies and his stupid trade war.

1 ySame people, Biden.
He blames Biden for GDP but, takes credit for stock market.
Just a funny reminder, when the stocks were going up under Biden’s watch he took credit for it nevermind he wasn’t even president yet.
Trump will just blame people then take credit if it is perceived as a good thing regardless.

Man made disaster "covid" that was used as an excuse to harm small businesses in favor of big corporations was a good thing according to all of the government butt kissers at the time. Now suddenly they have a problem with government affecting people's lives.

1 yAccording to the premarket CNN fear meter and given the last few days this week of market activity, looks like the Dow Jones is on the up and up away from fear - 🤭🥰 your typical market some days high some days low - nothing to see here folks

1 yThe thing is that the economy has spiraling down hill since decades. So many have to be to blame for this. But the recent acceleration of that trend is obviously Trump's doing. I hope it has the positive long term effects that he thinks it will have. I'm not so sure. But it is true that sometimes creating a short term painfull situation leads to long term improvement.

Anonymous(36-45)1 yStock market is where it was in October or election Day early Nov, still up over a one year period, way up over a 4 year period during Biden and 8 year with both. Dropping out of investing while Trump is in office is just as dumb as the investors that dropped out when Biden was in office.
