Seriously, government shutdowns, economic crashes mean nothing to them.

Robert Reich wrote a quick summary of how Hitler changed democracy into a fascist dictatorship. Essentially, get some power then leverage it into more power; use the "law" to cement your position. He was voted 4 years to pass laws without all that tiresome dealing with elected officials, within 4 *months* he'd cancelled elections and opposition parties altogether. In internet time, that will take four weeks, if Trump's allowed to claim immunity from prosecution.

If interest rates continue to rise the country will not be able to service the debt. He wants to win an election and knows that the worse things get, the better his chances.
There are still factions out there that have been insulated from the consequences of all his bad policies and they need a wake up call.

Not at all. You even admit he wants the economy to tank because he wants to win, even if that means suffering for huge numbers of Americans. "He wants to win an election and knows that the worse things get, the better his chances."
If you are "30 days away from bankruptcy", it's 100% the result of Republican actions. They really hate the 14th Amendment with it's pesky "The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned." (Not to mention the whole no official office for insurrectionists thing.)
Interest rates haven't gone up for some time, and they're likely to go down again now inflation rates are back to pre-pandemic levels.

Wait if the Chinese economy crashes won’t they just collect the debt we owe them resulting in our economy to crash

Oh, you mean my poll? It's a pretty simple yes/no question.
It's a fact that Trump wants the next recession sooner than later, in order to increase his chances of election in 2024. He said so himself.
With Republicans in the House making Congress unmanagable, it's possible they'll bring one on by undermining the economy even more than they already have.
How can the economy crash when it's already in the gutter? Did you mean the stock market? That will collapse any time the Fed stops propping it up.

Unemployment is down, inflation is down (nothing will undo it, but it's back down to pre-pandemic levels), wage growth has been exceeding inflation for nearly a year...

Fine, then 15 million new jobs since Jan 2021? 2.5 million in the last year?

+1 yYes; I want it to crash. To reset the real estate market.
025 Reply- +1 y
It would give more poor people the opportunity to own a home.
- +1 y
No it won't, it will mean more foreclosures, and more businesses owning residential property.
"Democrats in Congress have introduced a bill in both houses of Congress on Tuesday [December 5, 2023] to ban hedge funds from buying and owning single-family homes in the United States."
www.nytimes.com/.../...-street-housing-market.html - +1 y
Foreclosures won't happen unless people were overextended in the first place.
- +1 y
I'm saying they probably couldn't afford it in the first place. I'm guessing they were probably spending 80% of their paycheck on the mortgage payments.
- +1 y
"... If you don't have to pay rent.". No; it's a terrible investment. Because you'll still be paying regardless. In property taxes.
- +1 y
That's why you need to save a large portion of your money. Don't put it all in real estate.
- +1 y
"Property taxes are lower than rent.". That's not the point. The point is you still have to pay them even after you pay off your mortgage.
- +1 y
But renting is cheaper.
- +1 y
Regardless, a real estate crash will benefit everyone.
- +1 y
Why would it matter if they owned property?
- +1 y
Then that would be a huge blessing. Their taxes would go down.

You mean the schools that they're closing to house illegal aliens?

"Former President Donald Trump said that he expects the economy to crash, despite diminishing signs the U. S. is heading for a recession, and that he hopes the downturn comes during the next year, before he would take office if he won another term in November."

Didn’t Trump lose jobs because of a Global pandemic unleashed by China in order to stall trade negotiations and allow the Democrats to seize power? Also didn’t Biden claim to have created more jobs than any other president despite just rehiring people to positions once previously held once they removed COVID regulations and stopped talking about it
- +1 y
Well invasion at the border predates Biden, it’s just the Federal Democrats agenda to win more election if they flood the system with future democrat voters, less white less Republican votes. The migration north is caused by our interventionism down in South America messing with their governments
- +1 y
Not that I can think of. I've not exactly trumpeted praise for him, either. He's competent, he's managed the government OK, he's signed some laws that are probably as good as they could be, given the obstruction in Congress, and he's defending American democracy.
Have you EVER said anything bad about Trump? Or good about Biden?
I once praised Trump for undertaking to buy huge numbers of vaccines, thus making the ramp up of production safer for the companies producing them. Of course he didn't do the same for masks in 2020, which meant American companies didn't ramp up production, having been caught out before.
