Of course I trust him. I trust him to lie. So he is an exact reverse barometer of truth. Every sentence that comes from his flapping orange lips is untrue. So when he says that they are eating the pets, or that the world now respects the US, or that an election is rigged, or that Ukraine started the war, or that Canada should be the next state, or that he hires only the brightest and the best, or that he is innocent of all charges, or that grocery prices will fall on the first day, Well-all you have to do to take a 180 degree turn away from his bulls^%t pronouncements to know what the truth really is.

I go back and forth about this... I do trust him, ultimately. I trust that Trump loves his country. And I've seen in his conduct that the man quite literally follows the law (not much else, but he follows the law) damn near to the "t". His economic plans make sense. He calls out the problems in our system and he has a game plan to correct those problems.

If he followed the law he would never deny anyone their due process rights. As one with a law degree I know fully well what those are. He doesn't or, more accurately, doesn't give a damn about them.

@Sachem If you have a law degree (I do as well), you should know from Administrative Law that Due Process does not call for a formalized trial in every situation. Nor does deportation of an llegal immigrant constitute a "taking" of life liberty or property.

Does not the law state that every person is entitled to one? That doesn't say citizen ot legal resident, but person. As per other laws, all homo sapiens are people.

@Twalli Kind of. All persons are entitled to a fair trial (the government has to follow the rules) where a trial is required, but the 5th Amendment isn't saying that a trial is automatically required. Due Process only requires that the government follow the rules during trials and administrative procedures. Due Process can be satisfied by an Article 1 judge simply reviewing the evidence in a deportation action and concluding that ICE has met the requirements.

Many of those unfortunates were here legally. There's no denying that their due process rights were violated. Also bear in mind that several American citizens (notably those children with cancer) cannot be deported under any circumstances.

And, as I pointed out before ~ if tRump was an honest or forthright as some delusional right wingers claim, why not do the same to the Mafia?

      Reply

@Sachem Simple: because the people getting deported weren't actually here legally. And anyway, what the hell are you talking about children with cancer can't be deported? Of course they can.

The guy has compulsively lied his entire adult life. You can support him or not. But there is nothing trustworthy about him.

It saddens me that the USA has sunk to these levels. But it is not my county and it is your problem to fix.
