For the expats, how easy was it to adapt to the culture of your new home country?

What was it that struck you as odd? What habits or cultural aspects do you still find a bit weird?

I've got a few expat friends and they all picked a country where they felt more comfortable and safer than the US. They all said when they go back to visit family they experience reverse culture shock.

Not very easy. It was like I had entered a totally new universe and it took me years to adapt and still to this day I am seen as the foreign girl.

Same here. And oddly enough, when I go back to the country I was born in, people think I don't really belong there, as I moved away so many years ago.

It was a little hard to get used to the Detroit accent
