Republicans offer either...

1.) Batshit crazy and dumb as a bag of rocks with the morality of a sewer rat.

2.) A sellout to rich racists who want a White Christian Homeland

3.) A Christian religious extremist who wants a return to a patriarchal past where women are for breeding and not much else.

On the other hand, Democrats have no bench whatsoever. So the choices are bleak.

It's not going to happen, but if Trump were impeached and found guilty in the Senate trial, then the Vice President JD Vance, would automatically become President, as defined by the US Constitution. There's no choice involved... it's all spelled out in law.

It wouldn't be who we want as there are steps in place which would have to be followed. First in line if he wasn't also impeached would be vice pres, with speaker of the house next, then president pro tempo of the senate, and then cabinet members.

1. Impeachment is extremely unlikely. 2. If Trump is convicted on articles of impeachment, Vance becomes the president. Doesn't matter what anyone else "wants."

@sluttt I'm not American and it seems highly unlikely President Trump especially in office will ever be impeached even during his second term however - I for one think that the only "plus side to VP JD Vance" is, to my mind, he's relatively young at 40s and seems a bit aloof.
