Like seriously. Every time I see a Republican comment on the Russia-Ukraine conflict, they ALWAYS have something negative/hateful to say about Ukraine and praise Russia/Putin as if he did something great for them. It makes no fucking sense. Even Trump himself said none of this is Ukraine's fault. I get not wanting your tax money going towards another nation instead of your own, but these people, collectively, flat out hate the Ukraine, their people, and the fact that they're stabding up for themselves and fighting back instead of letting themselves get ran over. Putin is a war criminal and a monster with a one-way ticket to Hell the moment his heart stops beating. How can people who claim they love freedom so much stand for a wannabe communist dictatorship try to destroy and take over a country who wants nothing more than to be free themselves?

1 yYour propaganda is weak. Obama utilized the intelligence agencies to instigate the Maidan Revolution in 2014 to overthrow the Ukrainian government and install a puppet government via Victoria Nuland which was a conglomerate of criminals and Nazis soldiers. Obama then funneled poppy from the Afghanistan war through Ukraine to be processed into heroin which was to be sold into the European and American markets thus driving an opioid epidemic among American citizens in a new age opium war that has killed countless American citizens. Then Obama and others armed said puppet government to provoke a war with Russia to draw America/NATO attempting to facilitate a transition into WWIII where millions of Americans would die needlessly. To ensure your plans would not be interrupted Ukraine sent it's people to the USA to provoke violence and destruction at the January 6 "insurrection" as part of a psyop which led to the mass persecution of Republicans who were held without a right to a speedy trial, censored and stripped of our freedom of speech, and our freedom of religion by Joe Biden after a rigged election was pushed through. Those same Ukrainians also participated as provocateurs in the BLM/ANTIFA riots that burn down a number of American cities in acts of domestic terrorism and lead to the death of American citizens. Additionally your country acted as an arm for money laundering of American tax payer dollars and wholesale theft of American property in addition to the other aspects of crime like human trafficking that your country partakes in.
If you said your elections after the Maidan Revolution were rigged I'd believe you, but you insist that Ukraine has done no wrong and that you were attacked. That's a bunch of fucking bologna. If that's your position then at least 72% of Ukrainians are dirty because they "voted" for Volodymyr Zelensky and the Nazi puppet government. Your people attacked America and tried to strip us of our rights, our property, and our lives. Quite frankly you can go fuck yourself and die in a hole.

Second reason is that Russia is fighting a culture war. I am sure you have seen these pictures for example (or pictures like them):

which goes into the third reason. Russia and Putin in particular is trying to portray itself as STRONG and MANLY etc.. Things that Republicans LOVE to lap up. Republicans are madly in love with the image of Putin as a strongman for the same reasons that they love Trumps attempts to portray himself as a strongman:
At the end of the day, Republicans are simple creatures. They see strength and they flock to it as if it will keep them safe in this big and scary world.10 Reply
3K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Every empire that decays starts to remember time of former glory. In case of US it's the cold war time between 1946-1990. Some people think they can summon this time back just if they believe vehemently enough. Trump and his adviser were even affected until few weeks back with this delusion.
Now, the question. What has it with Russia and Putin common?
US needs strong and dangerous Russia to keep EU obedient and China busy with preparing land forces for possible Russian threat. As addition comes this wish think of past times by some political nostalgists who would have an easy predicable bipolar world again with evil Ivan and good uncle Sam.00 Reply
Anonymous(25-29)1 yOnce the war started and Democrats became pro-Ukraine, many Republicans immaturely feel the need to disagree with them on literally everything. But it doesn't help Trump asskisses Putin every chance he gets because Putin has so much dirt on him. Republicans becoming Russia apologists is sad. Republicans of the past are surely rolling in their graves at how these people love America's mortal enemy.

1 yConservatives have a bad habit of dealing with reality. Liberals live in a fantasy world. It has nothing to do with Russia or Putin. It's about reality.
Reality is
1) Ukraine is very unlikely to take back their territory without major foreign help, which the rest of the world has been unwilling to provide.
2) Quite frankly, Russia is more important than Ukraine. It has been throughout history and still is.
Putin has known since the start that the west will not do what it takes to kick them out. How does he know that? History is why. The west can't handle long drawn out wars. Putin is willing to sit it out.
European countries keep saying "No boots on the ground. No fliers in the air. No war ships in the Black Sea". In other words, they are not serious about kicking Russia out of Ukraine. The only thing they will do is keep up the stalemate, which is a bloody way to keep learning the same lesson over and over again. Either fight to win or don't bother showing up. Half way measures are just a bloody mess.

@WindAtMyBack Yeah, you've really proven that you all live in cold-hard reality by electing a con man, convicted criminal, rapist, corrupt, piece of shit orange turd who's proven countless times that he's incompetent and unfit for office, just because you refuse to believe that anything bad that's said about him is true.
Bonus: Imagine someone in power arbitrarily deciding —just like doofus right here– that Russia should pretty much gets what it wants just because, according to his educated opinion, it's "more important" than Ukraine. If that's not the kind of sensible, down-to-earth reasoning you conservatives are known for, I don't know what is.

1 yBecause Putin is against Globalism, which the Republicans view as extremely destructive.
Republicans basically regard NATO and the EU as the villains of the Ukraine/Russia situation because Russia tried many times to form alliances with the EU and NATO, only to have his attempts shut down. So, even though Russia attacked Ukraine, the Republicans say that Russia was being prodded into the attack.
They see what's happening in Ukraine as a consequence of the punitive way Europe has treated Russia since the fall of the USSR.

@goaded This shit's been going on since the late 90s and early 2000s, when Russia proposed joining NATO, I believe, in 2001. Go to the section "Framework Initiatives" en.wikipedia.org/.../Russia%E2%80%93European_Union_relations
Also look up the "Partnership for Modernization." - 1 y
Go to the section titled "EU Membership Discussion" for more information about the discussions in 2001.

Yes, because inviting the fox into the hen house is bound to be a good move. How stupid would you have to be to believe Putin ever negotiates in good faith, especially since he invaded the country that gave up its nukes in exchange for a non-aggression promise from Russia?
What the EU did was trade with Russia, treat it with respect. EU countries are required to be democratic, something Russia is certainly not. - 1 y
@goaded What I believe is that Putin negotiates in the interest of Russia. It's what he's done time and time again. You know who someone is by watching their actions. Putin consistently does what Putin believes is in Russia's interests. There's a reason the man keeps winning elections by such a large margin, even if the elections aren't free and fair.
But anyway, it's a bit of absurd to say the EU treated Russia with respect. Y'all treated him like a villain and moved goalposts around to prevent Russia from entering productive alliances at every opportunity. Even if you don't like the person you're sitting across the table from in politics, the reality is that that's the person you have to deal with.

1 yThe MAGA-tards are all latent fascists. They LOVE Putin and dictators in general. But they also LOVE free markets and Capitalism and HATE Commies. The irony and their own hypocrisy is utterly lost on them. They are the most fucking stupid people in the USA.
10 Reply 11.7K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Because they like white male authoritarian leaders. As Bill Maher said "over there? That melting pot don't melt."
40 Reply26.4K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Zelensky is such a slime ball it is really hard to work up any sympathy for Ukraine. I almost hope that he fails to get a peace deal done and the US pulls out and leaves him on his own. Putin comes in the next day and takes over the whole country and Zalensky gets sent to Syberia.

Asker1 ySo completely disregard the thousands of innocent civilians who lost their lives because you don't like one politician? Typical.
Asker1 yFuck Putin. There's a special place for him in Hell right beside his idols Hitler and Stalin.
Because Trump is stupid enough to think Putin is his friend and so he talks well of him. A lot of MAGA also supports Russia because they have money and assets in Russia and their banks as well as the fact Russia has been buying and bribing many of our politicians for years like Marjory Traitor Green the bitch in blonde.

"Forty-one percent of Republicans view Russia as either “friendly” or an “ally,” a CBS News/YouGov poll released Sunday found, as nearly half of Americans view President Donald Trump as backing Russia in its war against Ukraine—even before the president’s dramatic meeting Friday with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy."
