We all know that 67% of Americans were unhappy with the economy under Joe Biden, but the main topic of this thread is the illegal immigrant crisis that was caused by Joe Biden and the Democrat party in the last 4 years. People like Jocelyn Nungaray, Rachel Morin, Laken Riley and many others would be still alive if Donald Trump would have won the 2020 election.

I'm sure that a lot of people who voted for Joe Biden realized that many Americans who died thanks to the illegal immigrant criminals would be still alive today if they wouldn't have voted for Biden. It's a sad situation, because Joe Biden said it in the primaries that he and his fellow Democrats want an open border as you can see in these footages.

Joe Biden voters knew what will happen, and they still voted for him in 2020. What makes me even more sad, that 75 million people still voted for Kamala Harris in 2024, even through they knew how many people were killed by illegal immigrants. Look at these sad stories.

Trump shows a fundamental misunderstanding of international trade. A trade deficit isn’t inherently a bad thing. Madagascar produces 80% of the world’s vanilla extract. Madagascar is also one of the poorest countries on Earth. So…. Americans like vanilla flavoring, and will pay to obtain it. They sell something we want, and can afford.

America has transitioned away from being a manufacturing economy and we are now a service-based economy. And not for nothing, only physical goods are counted in a trade balance calculation, intangible services are not. So everyone in Madagascar might have a Netflix account, but it won’t register in the trade balance, while still counting towards our GDP. But anyway, Netflix aside and back to physical goods…. Madagascar isn’t buying a bunch of $80,000 Ford F-150 pickup trucks from us. They can’t afford it.

A reduction of importing is the only way to balance out, and in that case, Neopolitan ice cream and vanilla lattes won’t be available in America, or will cost much more due to reduction in vanilla supply. This is all super basic, first week of college Macroeconomics stuff here, supply and demand.

If we want to get into trade deficits with China, ok, now we might be talking some sense. But we have to realize that we will forever be handicapped against communist economies, because they aren’t saddled with the moral baggage of treating their workers even decently, let alone fairly. I struggle with that ethically, but monetarily, it makes sense to continue that kind of relationship.

Also, what’s our unemployment rate like? Maybe 4%? What’s 4% of the total working population? That’s probably like 200,000,000 people excluding children and the elderly. So that’s what, 8 million potential workers? Of that 8 million, how many are even interested in manufacturing work? How many are just wealthy and don’t work, or more likely, are homemaking women? I don’t know that the interest and the aptitude are there. Like even restaurants and farms have trouble finding documented workers to work for them, why do we think everyday Americans are going to line up for work at a textile mill like it’s 1895? We are a population of mostly exertion-averse pencil-pushing desk workers. It’s who we are, for better or for worse. You’re talking about a generation or two of radical societal change to ever re-cement that.
