have not, but I love that guy and he is so right. Also, anything spoken in French like that sounds right and lovely to the ears, the best of cultures, don't lose your culture... like we did.

My former generation was not as trashed as we are... we ruined our country for a while. Maybe... just maybe, it is being fixed.

American media and tv is garbage... I watched it for decades and can confirm it. My family does not own a TV at all!!! When I realized it is a sewere pipe into the home, the tv was turned off. Ditto what is on the inside rows of grocery store and in so many stores. America is a sick polluted society. Note, I don't expect American TV to ever be repaired, turn it off. If you've been to hollywood, you know the minds of people that are programming and creating it. There can be some good and fair and such, but most is crap. That includes netflix.

This is what happens when freedom and the value of dollar are prioritized over freedom and quality and a higher purpose (God). Realize... we threw God out of our country... Jesus that is. Jesus at one point was the cornerstone, now it's the corporation.

this is the benefit to gag, read difficult questions and think:)

Oh my god , your comment make me happy because you listened to the video , you are the only one apparently here lol.

Oh yes Michel Serres has a great voice. And his use of words is exquisite, difficult to translate exactly into English. But Michel Serres was a member of the Académie Française and a great intellectual.

Haha I can't criticize American culture because I was literally born in American culture and I listen to a lot of things that come from American culture. As the French philosopher wrote, the French have become "Gallo-Americans".

and there's a great word too "exquisite"! Our french relative, I get to hear such things at times and his little one, the little kids in french are the best to the ear as they manipulate their parents to get cookies:)
Its good to know our culture, there is some good. The old shows had some social value to think. In general. The quest for freedom and such is good.
Michel Serres, can tell he is wise man, he took a complicated issue and boiled it down to simple fact. I'll watch more, maybe he has gardening videos!

Come visit USA, it's lovely, our door is open to quality visitors. We've hosted several friends we met in France. @midnightmoon05

      Thanks you very much 🥰

I shall leave life as I have risen a thousand times from the table.
I will have heard a noise—at the door—it will interrupt the feast,
      and I shall recognize it.
I do not know whether a bell will chime, or a voice call out,
I do not know if a breath of wind will be the signal.
I only know that I will understand.

I shall have to turn back, for a moment.
      Before following that brightness,
to search with my eyes for my host,
      and smile, be courteous,
not leave the place without having said thank you
to the one who invited me.

Was I, in my turn, a worthy guest?
Have I paid enough for this chance to be here,
      seated among day and night,
with a few fleeting words, with light notes,
with held sounds or spoken phrases?
Did I hold up my part in the conversation?
Suddenly now, perhaps I can repay it all.
Quickly—one brief instant where voice equals life.

      Thank you—but to whom?
      Where are you, my host?
Who was it that invited me here?
I see only strangers, like myself, around the table,
only diners who tonight will go back home.
Empty, absent, is the seat of the master of the house.
To whom, at last, shall I offer this dense instant of equivalence?

My final glance backward is done.
Never again—never again shall I be able to say thank you.
Never shall I say thank you enough.
      Thank you for the chances,
      thank you for this miracle,
for the restless sea and the blurry horizon,
thank you for the clouds, for the river and the fire,
thank you for the warmth, the fervor, and the flames,
thank you for winds and sounds,
for the pen and for the violin,
thank you for this vast banquet of language,
thank you for love and suffering,
      for pain and for femininity…
      no—I am not done,
      I am only beginning,
I am just beginning to recall whom I must thank,
I am only now beginning my song of rejoicing,
and already my turn at the table is over.

I am the brightness, the noise, the wind.
      Blind, dazzled, deafened.
I was only just beginning, in tears,
to say the thank you, the equivalent of grace.

Please, whispers the noise, the wind, the sound
      that echoes behind the door.
      Please—I invite you—be welcome. "

he has a positive view... and he knows there is an end, something we should all keep in mind, so we live the fullest right now, the right way.

I'd hardly call it unknown or a secret.
People have been promoting "brain training" games / puzzles / exercises (and mental stimulation more generally) for decades, as a way to prevent cognitive decline and dementia, although there isn't actually all that much evidence to suggest it works, despite a lot of research in the area.
The physical exercise is certainly true up to a point. I know guys in their seventies, who surf every day, and have remained incredibly fit and healthy. But then, I also work as an outdoor instructor / guide, and many of us who have been doing it for a long time end up looking ten years older, from all the exposure to the sun and wind, and start to accumulate various niggling injuries (dodgy backs and knees, etc).

I justread an article by a scientist that has been trying to find out what makes a so called super ager? He thought it might be genetic but examined the DNA of hundreds of subjects only to find no commonalities.

What they all had in common was exercise. Not just aerobics but also strength exercises.

I do read a lot. I work math, word and logic puzzles. I do read books, and help manage our church library, now nearing 7,000 title listings. I work crosswords. I play the piano and organ almost every day. I garden, I do art. I "MacGyver" things we - or our neighbors- need, out of whatever I have stored in the basement and garage.
