I'm supposed to be getting an MRI soon, too, as soon as I can schedule it. Had it not been for our terrible weather, I'd have done it months ago. Here it is, the end of May, summer just 3 weeks away and I STILL have to turn the heat on to keep from being cold in the house!! Wasn't there supposed to be something about global warming and climate change? Couldn't prove it by me!!

I don't understand why so many drummers think they HAVE to beat the living shit out of their drums to get a good sound! Raising the stick up over their head and pounding the shit out of it! I usually keep my snare arm resting on my thigh and mostly just use my wrist to lift and lower the stick and I get the same sound. It's a partly how strong your wrist is and partly how you tune the drums.
Only 3 times does this guy put a stick over his head and it's usually at the very end of a song. The rest of the time, it's all wrists and elbows!

He's fluid with it. Drums escape me. Every now and then, I can hit on the table with my hands just right. I have an old friend, actually the younger brother of a best friend for 50 years now, he's a pretty good drummer. His mom said so, and she sang on stage since the 70s until her death in 06. She was very good. The friend is not so good on guitar. Hah, he sure tried, tho. Bless his heart. He died in 2012 on my cousins birthday, who in turn died 9 days later. Weird stuff. But the younger brother has talent. You two would probably get along well. He says the drummer for Quiet Riot is exceptional.
