The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development forecast Tuesday that the U. S. economy — the world's largest — will slow further to just 1.5% in 2026. Trump’s policies have raised average U. S. tariff rates from around 2.5% when he returned to the White House to 15.4%, highest since 1938, according to the OECD. Tariffs raise costs for consumers and American manufacturers that rely on imported raw materials and components.

With the "TACO" taking root with investors I've heard there is potential growth in the near future. Which i should add is objectively worse because investments are now another step removed from reality.

Look at the Palantirs stock. How does that create any tangible goods? It's stated goal is to take away fundamental rights and empower individuals of wealth. Thats It's intrinsic value. So we are moving away from reality to agregues over step of power consolidation.

Considering that US GDP decreased 0.3% in the 1st quarter, 1.6% on the year would mean a decent 2nd half of the year. However, there's no reason to believe the trade war will end soon since the rest of the world has spent the first half of 2025 trying find more favorable trading partners and diversify away from the US. It's becoming more likely that countries will only sign minor deals similar to the UK agreement which would decrease US exports and imports substantially.

Growth is deceptive when only us companies are growing by out sourcing American jobs.

We are so obsessed with statistics, surveys and data that we just accept the results as gospel when in actuality the results can be fixed by the categories allowed when the data is collected.

i heard it was just the opposite. The OECD sounds like one of the agencies that have been cut by DOGE so they will be anti Trump anyway. Th FOMC cautiously thinks there will be growth.

I've also heard growth from Palantirs.

A company who's only growth comes from government spying on average citizens. Not from actual goods or services every day people use but government over reach and breaking the constitution in the name of national security.

Breaking away from real world goods and services but a break away from constitution for the profitable good?
