The sad thing is that these policies are not just confined to the state of New York. New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts , California, Illinois and even Maine has similar policies. How much worse does it have to get before these morons are voted out of office? The people in California had a chance to get rid of Newsom and yet they voted him back into office and look at the result.

Democrats were able to steal the 2020 election partly due to mail in ballots and fake ballots. They know that IDs would make it harder to cheat.

@msc545 Netherlands, our voting system is quite robust. Everyone gets mailed a voting pass with a few week window to request one if you didn't. The voting pass lists at which voting booth you registered to vote (That's automatic, you don't need to register to vote). If you want to vote you can only do so in person with your ID, no mail in at all. If you can't go in person which also happened because I was to sick, you can sign the pass with your signature that authorizes someone to vote on your behalf and you loan them the ID. They then vote in person for you at the same time they are voting, up to 3 ballots to prevent harvesting. The entire vote your allowed to witness, and they count it by hand in the evening which you can watch. The hand count is signed and documented before it goes into the central computer. Every polling location report is posted on the websites of the municipalities along with the digitized result so you can track if the computer is accurate. And because the origin is a paper ballot count the counting pace is done at a pace humans can observe, they solve the speed by just having a lot of voting places to keep the ballots very decentral.

Literally nobody is unable to vote because you need to have been in violation of the ID law for 5 years before it becomes a problem voting.

@msc545 I'm saying what I'm hearing them say. I don't speak for them but I do listen to them and to me the idea that they are inferior beings who don't have ID's nor the capacity to get one is nonsense. They are just as capable of getting ID's as us.

But that's not the point, point is you could verbatim copy our system for a secure election which for us leads to a turnout even higher than yours. So at minimum its not hindering anyone. I haven't seen examples where voter ID is mandatory that the right people (those who should be allowed to vote) are being blocked which lines up with my country's results. I never heard anyone complain that that's such a big hurdle. My own ID is currently expired and all I gotta do to be eligible is make sure to renew it within the next 2 years. If not, I do have a passport thats not expired and that one counts to. Do black people not have passports? Over here a lot of people don't but you got to have either an ID, drivers license or a passport in my country not just for voting.
