I have lost all faith and confidence in humanity. I am outright disgusted by the way people conduct themselves, the sheer lack of empathy and competency, the selfishness and greed, and the moral decay.

I do not feel we are prepared for the massive displacement of the workforce, AI automation, associated security risks, and the looming crisis that is about to take shape. We are collapsing from within and the entire world is on the brink of collapse. We are polarized like never before. We lack the ability to handle conflict and sustainability. I am watching chaos unfold right before me. The older generations that had motivation, drive, and the ability to hold a tight ship are dying. With each newer generation, we are seeing more and more incompetence.

I am growing more convinced we have only 5 years, and that is being generous. You can take this with a grain of salt, and that is up to you. 5 YEARS! Think very closely how you want to spend this time.

Did you know 3 sailors survived the bombing of WWI West Virginia battleship and sat on the bottom of the ocean for 16 days?

You are alive and you get to make choices to show compassion, empathy, make a difference every day. Jesus, did that to his last moments. So can you. If even 1% does that, it's a great difference.

Humanity is both wonderful and awful. Change is coming... because change is constant.

Turn off the media and tv and watch some ants for a while. they've been doing what they do for millions of years.

I gave up on humanity decades ago, and you sound like one of the sorts that led me to that outcome.

The overreliance on empathy without even understanding what it entails.
The constant myopic criticism of "selfishness" despite it being a necessary factor for all living beings.
The blathering about morality as though everyone were stupid enough to need to be so controlled.
The older generations irredeemably ruined society for the younger generations... grandparents effectively robbing their grandchildren of any prospects for a decent life by hoarding it all for themselves and pricing everyone else out of life itself.

Humanity is a write-off because of the vast swathes of arrogant, morally self-righteous idiots.

Every generation since the beginning of time has said they are the last generation and the world is coming to an end sometime soon. So far we've lasted 2.5 million years, and I think we'll make it past another 5 years. Algore said the world would end from global warming 9 years ago. Not only are we still here, no one is even talking about global warming anymore. They're more worried about keeping violent criminals in the country.

Actually this is one of the reasons I decided to retire last year. If President Trump did not win we were all screwed anyway.

Think of technological advancements much like an exponential curve. Starts gradual, picks up speed, then shoots up sharply. There are many uncertainties regarding the impacts of AI. We are seeing rising deep fake technology, bioterrorism risks, and security concerns all around. Some may predict a utopian scenario, others like myself can see a more dystopian nightmare ahead.

Aside from technological disaster, we a whole have backslided severely. Newer generations are becoming more and more careless, irresponsible, and disrespectful. We are seeing a rise of autism and developmental disabilities in children. We are witnessing family structures collapse, less companionship, turmoil in marriages and relationships, a rise in loneliness and depression, skyrocketing cost of living, less stability, housing instability, and recklessness.

Morally, ethically, and financially our society is crumbling.
