Because they are brainwashed both politically and religiously.

Politically because of the orchestrated 9/11 that they were fooled into believing that it was a terror attack and that all Arabs and Muslims are the enemy of the USA. When in fact the attack was orchestrated and carried out by Israel to make the USA hate the Arabs forever, because Israel hates the Arabs.

Religiously because the stupid religious Americans believe in the coming of Christ through the redemption of the Jews. The Christians there believe that they owe their faith to Judaism and it is tied together. When in fact, Christianity was cunningly created by the Romans to propagate fear and control without the use of weapons.

For the first time ever though, a lot of Americans have woken up to the truth about Zionism, Israel and Judaism being very separate from the first two.

A lot of Americans have come to realise that Israel is a sick manipulative racist society that uses America like a slave through political lobbying and spreads lies and fear.

A lot of Americans have come to realise that their tax dollars are used by Israel for its political gains while the Americans suffer from unemployment, housing and healthcare problems.

A lot of Americans can now see that American money is spent on Israelis and their well-being more than that of Americans.

And a lot of Americans are finally able to see that Americans lives are lost fighting wars in other countries because of Israel.

Americans are wising up, just like they did during the bullshit Vietnam war, the bullshit Iraq war on WMDs and the bullshit war on terror in Afghanistan.

Americans are wising up to the lies of their own politicians who are slaves to Israel.

Depends on who you ask, there are a lot of groups who love Israel for different reasons. For example there is the Christians who believe Israel is part of their doomsday prophecy. There are the rich people who wants to use government money to purchase military stuff and conveniently send it to Israel so that you can justify buying more. There are the racists who sees Israel as a colonial state to fuck over the Muslims and they go hand-in-hand with the people who just wants to see Muslims get killed.

There are also a small handful of people with the misguided belief that we should give Jewish people a "place to live" (by taking it from others) and another group that has bought into the propaganda pumped out by Israel and all the other groups previously mentioned that tries to manufacture baseless support for Israel.

Most citizens aren't. It's the AIPAC lobby that wields a lot of power. They know how to pressure and manipulate politicians better than almost anyone and they've been doing it for 60 years. If you don't fall in line as a politician they will target you and try and end your career. This is why the statements politicians make on Israel sound even more robotic than other things they say because they've been drilled on exactly what to say.
