They also wouldn't have Arabic members of their own government or give equal rights in Israel to Muslims living peacefully alongside them as they have for the entire existence of the country.
Read the Hamas charter. It explicitly calls for the destruction of the state of Israel and the death of all non-muslims in the area.

Ignore the fact that the grandparents organisation of Hamas, the Islamic Brotherhood, were the allies of GERMANY in WW2 and fought to deport all Jews in the area to the death camps like Auschwitz. Ignore that Israel tries to minimise civilian casualties so Hamas dig shelters under hospitals a schools then refuse to allow evacuation of civilians from those areas.
I know nobody with intelligence and integrity who support Hamas. I know plenty of people who want to see the conflict end and innocent Palestinians safe. It's just difficult to identify which ones are the innocent and which ones might be voluntarily wearing Semtex underwear.
