Can someone please explain to me the relationship between AOC and Bernie Sanders?

As far as I knew, AOC was anti-israel and Bernie was very pro-israel. Bernie says nice things that for the most part all agree with. In a perfect world Bernie would be president but without that huge affiliation problem (and I'm not referring to AOC).

He's grooming her obviously, but I didn't think she was the type to fall for it? Does Bernie eventually think he could convince her for that sit down with AIPAC?

I did not get that at all… He said Israel will always be in the top interests of Republican Party and Democratic Party because the top donors control their position so, America will always back Israel in that fashion, which he is right. Doesn’t matter personal opinion or the constituents you serve’s thoughts and feelings on the matter, The Two Party System has heavy influence on that.

Now to answer your question as to why, AOC is teaming up with Bernie / vice versa, it is to Fight Oligarchy ! It doesn’t matter your background, party affiliation, brand loyalty, religious practices, ethnicity, etc. we can all agree that Corporate Sponsorships, Lobbyists, and the move towards replacing millions of capable young workers with Artificial Intelligence and machinery is messed up.

We can all agree that with the inflation being highest in American history, broken housing market, and wages being chicken scrap is concerning in the #1 wealthiest nation in the world and subscribing to the idea it isn’t radical to want your fair share. Fair share as in worker benefits, good wages that cover the minimum cost of living in this ever growing expensive nation, etc.

No matter who you are and what side of the political spectrum you are on, Bernie and AOC will accept you in open arms to stand up for workers’ rights!
Billionaires will always get richer which is okay, but it shouldn’t be while exploiting and demeaning the working class. That is the whole basis here.

i'm on board with that. but it's a rally tour. almost a protest? what is the goal here? the people going to see them already know all this. it's grandstanding for the sake of publicity, which might make the news after the fact.

@sevenpointfive Think of it like a protest and demonstration to spread awareness also showcase solidarity for the these ideas. The more of a platform these “radical” & “dangerous” & “anti-establishment” ideas have, more likely people will see them for what they are, reasonable ideas.
Right Wing Media has poisoned the ideas spoken calling it “Communist”, “Socialist”, “Radical” which makes it harder for everyday Americans on both sides to digest. Once the news, headlines, TikTok Clips, and live streams buzz around the word of American public, things change.

The more of a platform you have, the better. I’ve seen Republicans who support Trump show up to these rallies because yes they voted Trump, though don’t like Elon Musk or Lobbyist control over our elections. There are even people who don’t like what they are selling, though show up to ‘Fight Oligarchy Tour’ just to hear what their ideas for a Free America is that Works For Everybody actually means from their mouths. This is good.
An awakening is happening and people will vote less Establishment politicians, and more for those speaking up for healthcare, housing market, busfare, childcare, wage increases, rent decreases, reasonable taxation, and tax the rich, invest in infrastructure, invest in environment preservation, etc.

if you want to simplify everything then make the rules work. create something new that isn't capitalism, but rewards ideas, inventions and such. tiers to jobs could exist. there is only rich and base income so everything is free at the base level. overall everyone lives well. it diminishes (not fully) the idea to be destructive and instead get creative.

Bernie Sanders said it best years before Trump came around, the only way for billionaires and corporate entities to sell the American public their unpopular and clearly selfish goals is by splitting us up. Donald J Trump was a perfect avenue / channel for that, we are so divided that it allows the rich and powerful to exploit the political system more. “Communist”, “Socialist”, “Radical” hides the 5 day work week, dental plans, fire safety codes, and raises in salary thanks to Unions. Once you treat Unions as Communist Regime Rhetoric, you enable the exploitation of The Middle Class to 1000x.
We aren’t against big business making money, but we are against the exploitation and them not paying their fair share also sabotaging competition which drives innovation, affordability, and consumer choices.

So she IS from the Bronx. She was born there and lived there until 5. It’s not like she was born in a rich town.
I was born in Manhattan, lived there until I was 17 and once I graduated my family moved out to NJ. I’m still a NYer.
Cortez still represents the Bronx; that’s her district. She is also very bright, having gone to good schools and even studying science and having a meteor named after her.

@Amy10223 nobody remembers much pre 5yrs old, they remember the later years. she can represent where she lives, but i don't see how she'd be a bronx girl. you know what the bronx is like right? it's rough, that's very different than where she grew up. as a representative, she doesn't even live in bronx, but in dc mostly. I do agree she seems to represent many as she's for the working person, immigrants, etc..

They are both very vocal, intelligent, and concerned Democrats. Concerned about the people in this country, namely the poor and working class who have very little, who are feeding the rich basically, and whose lives are at stake with the way the economy is going. Aside from this, they are concerned about the fact that democracy is in total danger in this country and not many people know it. These two, and Jasmine Crockett, are some of the few Democrats who have a voice for the people and who I really admire.

Bernie never won when Hilary was winning. It was reported that many, many people who were going to vote for Bernie at the polls were turned away (in places like Brooklyn, NY, I heard this more than once). It did not seem like it was a fair election in that case. Bernie even mentioned it himself. Had he won, imagine how different the outcome would have been. Bernie would have won.
