Since most states still throw the man in jail despite any and all evidence that he might actually be the victim or that the abuse might actually be mutual, probably not. Only if it’s obvious that the abuse is wholly one-sided it’s clear he’s the problem.
Otherwise, i’d probably try to intervene myself and attempt to make a friend of him in order to help him get away safely.
