about 2 years ago my mom was so excited about wal-mart coming to her town because all they have is an heb. i said that's great. my mom as of maybe 10 years ago had never shopped at walmart, so she must have been missing out? the closest walmart is 40 minutes away for her.

so, i saw that it was going to be on a road that led to a place i worked out of town. so it was going to be relatively close to her since she doesn't like driving. she waits, i wait and 2 years later i asked her about the walmart. where is it? there's plenty of places it could've gone but the construction was always for some trailer park or something stupid.

so i look into it because something is not right. it turns out walmart was opening nearby but it wasn't a superstore or anything. it was for an old town style general store that doesn't sell general store items and you can only buy from them if you're renting their cabins because there is no other reason to go. and the shit looks pricey!

not a good story but she really wanted that walmart and that's coming from someone who snubbed her nose at it for years!
