Trending & News So he was convincted of what most of us consider sex trafficking. That is, he waa convincted of transporting people wirt the explicit intention of selling their services sexually so he can profit. He did get convincted for this, that means up to 10 years in prison per convinction.
However sex trafficking needs legally needs an element of forcefulness. Violence, threats, alike. In the p. diddler's case he likely used false promises of money instead and they could not prove the threats. Hence transportiation of prostitutes instead of sex trafficking (which literally means transportation of prostitutes).
Likely also money and threats. Many people backed out. Including smoking guns like the well known Bieber which would have been a rape charge on a minor.
The key witness had accepted money to drop charges from Diddy before and I would not be shocked if it happened again.
He should have been out away for life. The fact he has billions and still got up to 10x2 years shows just how bad this is.
As it stands he was convicted of sex trafficking without proof of violence, twice. Each for 10 years and could total as much as 20. It is anyone's guess how much or little he gets but if he gets 20 that's some justice.
It's absurd that he's going to get with it all.
Though sex trafficking is completely different to transport of a prostitute, there is a clear distinction. Otherwise just driving around a corner with a girl who's a sex worker would be classed as so. But it's also weird to me that transport of one is illegal within it's self because that don't make much sense.
Would a bus driver be a criminal if a sex worker got on this bus? I guess in law they are attempting to make a claim of intent? But that's still iffy to me.
Especially when you consider sex work is legal in places and ways. As it should be is constened.
Don't take this as me defending him, I ain't he needs prison for the actual crimes he did commit which were far worse.
Well, thanks for the clarification of the differences, cause I didn't really know that!

NGL, I haven't been paying attention at all.. It's like so far he's pretty guilty to me.. No need for me to spectate much more..
Money talks, as they say.
But he'll get off on that as well on appeal.
I'm just about to start watching this video.
each charge has its own criteria that have to be met to receive a guilty verdict. Despite knowing he did something, if it can't be proven to the satisfaction of the jury, then it's pretty hard for a full conviction. And semantics suck. Technically, sending people around to different guys is just transporting hookers if they can't prove it was with the intent to sell sex to the guys... I guess. Really sickening in my opinion.
Who cares. A rich guy gets off to re-offend again.
I'm not paying any attention.
