If I held someone on top of my friends, family, etc. and they tell me to commit an injustice for them, it wouldn’t be so crazy if I did it in their name, would it not?

That is why we should be open to criticism, free thought, hold the individual as an individual through accountability, and don’t treat them as a branch of God.

The Crusades were fought because people followed The Pope with unquestionable authority, People whipped themselves during The Black Death to relieve themselves of God’s punishment as told by The Church, and Adolf Hitler rose to power to commit unworldly atrocities of millions all because it didn’t affect certain individuals then once they were persecuted by The Nazis there was no one left to stand up for them. Hitler wanted to be seen as above The Church so, religious leaders spoke up then were sent to Concentration Camps which luckily one survived to say “they came for The Communists and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Communist, they came for The Socialists and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Socialist, they came for Trades Union and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t in Trade Unions, then they came for me and there was no one to speak up for me.”

I do agree with that.

Another group of people you have to look out for are people with good intentions and a very specific idea about what the right thing to do is.

It's very hard to convince someone with beautiful intentions and a plan that their plan might be a bad idea.
