Who were and are the most outstanding Americans?

President George Washington and President Abraham Lincoln are easily the greatest Americans on my mind, what comes first obviously as any true American would choose.

Though there are a few Americans that deserve praise for a lot of things , I believe Jimmy Carter proved himself in his commitment to serve the public after office in the form of building houses for the homeless is by far the reason he will be one of the greatest Americans I know. Not to mention the incredible work of The Carter Center too. Thank you Jimmy Carter. He is one of the greats for sure, still miss him.

Mr. Rogers (for entertaining children and fighting for Public Broadcasting Federal Funds) , Stan Lee (Comic Book Legend And Pioneer), Rod Serling (Television Works) , Gene Roddenberry (Television Works) , Harriet Tubman (Freedom Train) , Upton Sinclair (Muckrakers) , Alice Paul (Suffragist) , Ida Tarbell (Investigative Journalism)
