To those of you who were born in or live in America, which founding father would you like to meet the most?

Franklin and Washington seem to me to be the most interesting. Benjamin Franklin for obvious reasons, like his inventions and his being a newspaper publisher, and George Washington, as the commander in chief of the US forces during the Revolutionary War, and also the President of the Constitutional Convention. Washington's leadership was crucial. While he did not write the Constitution, his presence and support for the process lent it the legitimacy it desperately needed, and helped guide the delegates toward a consensus.
However... If I could only meet one, and it not be an obvious choice, forcing me to think of a more interesting intellectual member of the founding fathers, it would have to be James Madison! Simply because Madison had the greatest influence on the substance of the Constitution's contents. His ideas about checks and balances, the separation of powers, as well as the federal system of government were deeply embedded within the document. Madison's influence is particularly evident in the structure of the government, with its three branches (legislative, executive, and judicial) designed to prevent any one branch from ever becoming too powerful, and creating the checks and balances we still count on today to keep the us free, and prevent any one branch of government from overstepping their legal authority. (in theory, anyway).
James Madison, is often referred to as the "Father of the Constitution," because Madison played the central role in drafting and promoting the Constitution. He was a key advocate for a strong central government and he was instrumental in laying the foundation for the structure of the Constitution. Madison's extensive notes from the Constitutional Convention are also a primary source for understanding the debates that went on during the Constitutional convention, and the decisions that shaped the final document. As such, I believe he would be fascinating to speak to, one-on-one!
I hope this helps.

I really enjoyed reading your reply so thank you. Madison slipped my mind honestly, glad you mentioned him. I’m adventurer and historian so I’m still leaning towards Franklin. I mean at the age of 17/18 he got stranded in London, this is in 1724.

Accidentally sent that. My point was he’s one of the most vital reasons we won the revolution. Had he not gone to Versailles and negotiated with king Louis xvi we could very well be under a British flag waiting for parliament to make decisions in London. I thought you find the attached link fascinating.
Thank you so much for your wonderful reply, I really appreciate it. You’ll get no argument from me regarding Franklin. My purpose however, was to pick a less obvious founding father. Mainly to make people think, but also because I prefer men who do not seek the limelight or fame. Franklin, say what you will about him, because of his many achievements, most definitely enjoyed the fame and the privilege it afforded him. Therefore my choice was merely a point of personal preference. Thanks again 🙏 .

Ben and George are the two most interesting to me. Everyone else was pretty self-serving when you book it down.
I'm with you. Ben Franklin was a very interesting man, inventor, astute politician, and a womanizer. We'd have a very interesting discussion.
I would warn benjamin Franklin that lightning is dangerous.

Off the top of my head, I'd say Franklin as well. Dude was a total Renaissance Man, and could probably keep up with just about any subject we could talk about.
Franklin was a famous raconteur in his day. Good choice.
Can I pick Betsy Ross?
I would pick Ben Franklin as well. He was a really amazing guy.
only if Voltaire is showing up as well... otherwise, I pass
Not sure it would go well.
Washington: He was the Cincinnatus of his day and freed his slaves
James Madison. Or perhaps the often ignored Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette
Hancock, we're related.
Never thought of it but, I guess Benny.
Thomas Jefferson
Washington
Chief Chuwazanga.
