Non-Americans, what do you feel about America in general?

I quite rarely see people from other countries actually say good things about America and it’s people. Although i think some of the negativity is warranted, I personally believe it’s really just a trend to hate on America. What do you think? Americans could put their input on the topic too.

I think the US is great in many ways, has lovely hospitable people and has made a significant cultural contribution.

Having said that, for how Americans talk it up as if every European would love to live there, it would not be an appealling place for me to live.

Working there seems like slavery. You have shitty labour laws, pretty much non existent holidays, the Americans on here seem to be proud of working 60 hours a week, which in my opinion, is slavery. Plus the healthcare issue.

The UK is terrible, truly terrible at the moment. But I would still pick it over the US.

I live in Canada but I've had US based businesses most of my adult life. Most of my income since I was in my late 20s and even now has been from the US. The US is a great place to make money and I have many American friends through business. I like Americans but I have no desire to be an American. I wouldn't want to live there and until the border situation improves and becomes less hostile, I'm not crossing the border any time soon. Most of us like vacationing in the US but we've mostly changed plans to Europe this summer and Mexico this winter.

We liked the United States, certainly as a holiday destination, but also for the pop culture, for example its movies and music. George W. Bush’s politics (and Iraq war - „If you’re not with us, you’re against us!“ 🤦‍♂️ ) destroyed it mostly for us, then this Trump disaster showed up and destroyed what was left.

Take the German guy's comments with a grain of salt. He's an outspoken libtard wokester who doesn't represent all Germans. I have family in Germany with whom I'm close and they are more centrist and grounded. According to them, German's generally have a much more positive view of America than the picture he paints. Germany has its own problems and many Germans believe they are due to the same kinds of issues Trump is fighting to repair here at home.

@Avicenna Yeah they definitely exist, and like the German guy here, they are insufferable. But fortunately most Germans are not that way. Most are friendly toward America, as we are toward them.

The problem with this topic is that Trump says something and does either absolutely nothing or the complete opposite.

So when you ask this question. How does one answer it?

Trump just likes to say the word groceries he has no idea how to lower the prices of groceries.

Trump likes to use the oval office for his own family's profit.

Trump has never filled a gas tank has no idea where the sign is on a tank that says $1.99 a gallon... in california... according to him. *snort* His campaign donors are all big oil. That is why gas prices will never come down while his butt is burning the oval seat.

trump has now manufactured and or fabricated "crime" in two states and sent the countries military against his own paid actors and citizens. (Added to the long list of impeachable offenses the day after primaries)

There has always been a war during a red prez.

trump is in favor of raising taxes.

Dems aren't insecure about other's sexual orientation. That is a fact. Either are independents. That is a red thing.

@dustybiker2 The border has the fewest number of illegal crossings in history. There were more crossings in one day when Biden was president that there are in a whole month now. That is a fact.
Trump told Iran they had 60 days to shut down their nuclear weapon facility. They thought that they were still dealing with Biden. They must have been surprised to have 14 bunker busters shoved down the ventilation shaft of their underground facility, blowing it to bits.
Trump passed a new budget bill which made permanent his middle class tax cuts he implemented during his first term and also eliminated taxes on tips and overtime pay. He gave seniors an additional 12 thousand dollar deduction on social security and increased the SALT tax limit to $40,000.
There are over a dozen trade deals that are finalized and more get done every week.
He is fulfilling a promise of deporting all illegal aliens.. He is doing the worst first. It is just a coincidence that most members of drug cartels are from South America.
The only people losing SSI and Medicaid are illegal aliens and others who are not qualified to get it.
Most politicians make promises and when they cannot deliver they all have an excuse. Trump is showing the country that things CAN change if we are willing to do the work.
He is really doing everything that he campaigned on. Some things are still works in progress but Trump made some pretty big promises. Even people that hate him have to admit he is busting his ass every day to get things done.
Even CNN had to admit is is the most consequential president in history.

The latest one is how much people like his law and order policies but there are others showing their approval of his handling of illegal immigration and the economy. There is also anothe rthat shows how underwater Trump is about the Epstein files.
