America definitely has things about it that piss me off or disappoint me. The recent roe vs wade overturn being a big one and these dumb fucks who wanna take away birth control. People aren’t kidding when they say some people really are going backwards and it’s scary. Healthcare is a joke, insurance is a joke, maternity leave is a joke. Things are too fucking expensive. We do nothing to help our homeless except make them leave where they find to stay as we see them as an eye sore. We would rather have dilapidated buildings ruining and being a safe haven for criminals instead of doing something with it for homeless. We pay too many taxes and churches should have to pay taxes. Our prison system is a joke and does nothing to reform. You could rape someone and get two weeks. You could brutally kill someone and get 6 years. The more I think about it, I don’t love my country the way I used. I’m sure none of these problems are new and I’m just starting to realize them over the last few years. With all that said, when I hear about countries with communism, or where public beheadings are common, or where women get killed for driving, or showing their face, or being out alone without a man, I realize that while America is plenty fucked in its own right, most countries are and i suppose we’re much less fucked than lots of other countries. There are some countries in better shape than us, but I can’t say I’m unhappy enough or committed enough to uproot my life, leave the one place I’ve ever called home and everyone I love, to pursue another country.

After traveling abroad I really appreciate what I have here. There are pros and cons to any country, but comfort is high here. This country has so many beautiful places to see that it’s east to never really leave the borders. Early in the 20th century a movement was started and gained enough traction to protect the wilderness that was left here, even though our government now leans back and forth on whether they want to continue to protect or just destroy. The ability to travel within the country is amazing because of the infrastructure even though it’s probably not the most efficient. The level of education is pretty low and the quality is sub par usually. The country also has some strange contradictions, like we have an incredibly large incarcerated population, and are closer to a police state than many would acknowledge, yet we claim to be a bastion of freedom. Many politicians here claim to be pro life, but only for the unborn; birth, childhood, early adulthood, adulthood, and beyond becomes less of a priority. An example is a politician who is against abortion but will not support a program to give women maternity leave or feed children who are below the poverty line. Back to some pros, we have two immense oceans as two strong Allies as borders. If we just stepped back from the international military stage a little and shut down some of our bases overseas we might improve our image in the world. Another pro would be despite our tough history with morals I still think that the country wants to strive to become moral and honest. I know most congressmen and women are mostly lobbied out of any morals they had but I still feel like the country has it in its heart to be moral. Anyways the US is a mixed bag of good and bad.
It’s a mixed bag. Quality of life is high, but I’m not that impressed by what our citizens value and aspire for, or really just our overall collective character. I guess that extends to the US as a geopolitical player too. It’s very comfortable here but the people suck. “Who we are” just depresses me, to be honest.
In fairness, I don’t have much basis for comparison. I’ve never lived anywhere else or even really been anywhere else. I guess I’m just saying that if the US is supposedly “the best country in the world”, then I shudder for the rest of the world, because this place is like watching a dumpster fire from a comfortable couch, just hoping the wind doesn’t blow the wrong way and spread the flame to your own furniture.
It is one of the best countries on earth but not the greatest country on earth. US is more like a corporate at times rather than a country because they go by the book a lot. Very robotic and that means the population will be robotic too sadly and kids too, schools jobs etc. I have seen better and raised into a complete different country so I can see things differently sometimes compare to someone who’s born and raised in the US the whole life ~ and no that 1 week vacation in Cancun won’t tell you enough about other countries lol

I love my country but I hate our federal government.
America was a fantastic idea of freedom.
However after 200+ years power hungry men & agendas beating upon it's rules, the Goverment now claiming its legitimacy under the same no longer much resembles that which was agreed to.
Although it is very much more a question of power and force now than law. The law document remains gives us a template to work toward in reasserting our rights in this new game without ciaos. Therefore to me that that alone is America to which we pledged, not anything that now exist but rather a dream of freedom under a goverment of written Law Not the arbitrary whims of men.
Disdain. It is obvious from how the Senate race is going that we have not learned our lesson. Look at the state of our economy and world standing at the hands of Biden and his cronies in Congress. Both have fallen significantly in the past 2 years, yet some morons keep voting these Fuck-o-crats into office. At this point the best we can hope for is a change in the House, stall these idiots until 2024 and hope Americans finally get tired of inflation, which could easily be at 20% before these idiot-ass liberals are done.
Of course I appreciate the United States. And anything critical you'll EVER here me say about her is because I only want the best for her. Her might has ALWAYS been her diversity. The best of humanity working for the betterment of humanity. Sure we get it wrong some times, we make mistakes, and we bicker. But there's a belief that sets her apart from the rest of the world. the United States at it's heart is an idea. And a good idea cannot be killed. Not so long as enough people believe in her. And the world should pray we never lose that.
I appreciate that America is the freest country on the planet, despite it's many flaws. But I have disdain for the average American citizen. We're a bunch of spoiled, egocentric little brats who demand instant gratificatiom for everything all the time. It's annoying and, in some cases, infuriating.
Im 27. I can say america is not the great country as it was 20 to 30 years ago. Life is hard here right now. Back then , life in America was very easy. Gen z folks under the age of 25 may not know this because they were too young to remember how good the old days were
I wouldn't say I dislike the US. There's plenty of iissues that stymie and diminishes the country so it's not as good as it could/should be. There's also plenty of good things about the country; the foundation of the government (the constitution for example), the culture, the people (for the most part lol), etc. Its flawed but necessarily doomed.
Both. I love this country, but I see and acknowledge its flaws, and I don't treat it as some perfect, incorruptible Heaven. The terribly widespread idea that the country is inherently fantastic, and that nothing could ever threaten that, is itself quite a threat to everything that makes it worthwhile.
I appreciate it, but I have disdain for a system that allows the lazy and inept to vote into office people who then, under threat of violence, extract money from the productive in order to give it, directly and indirectly, to the lazy and inept people who voted them into office. Theft once removed is still theft.
I appreciate America, but I have disdain for the American government and a significant portion of the American people. I want America to be the greatest nation on earth, but I don't believe it is. I believe it could be, if not for it being constantly sabotaged from within. I'm not naming any names, as I don't want to get into any kind of argument. Let's just leave it at "I'm disappointed in America. It's supposed to be better than this."
I appreciate America and the basis provided by the Founding Father of the country. Recent liberalism- such as wanting the "right" to continue unbridled killing of fetal humans through and after birth, putting other countries ahead of our own, and numerous other undermining actions and attitudes will only serve to destroy that basis.
America... girl needs some intense help. We are morally and spiritually bankrupt! And we are on a very steep and fast decline to totally collapse and devastation. It's only a matter of time before the whole bubble pops.
A little of both to be honest. Having traveled a bit, I respect the U. S. in the sense that you won't get scammed here and everyone is treated equally and our customer service is among the best in the world.
At the same time, American people are too much sticklers when it comes to the rules, but at the same time a lot like to walk all over you and take advantage of you, and I also think we could significantly improve in our social and political departments.
The best thing about America is also the worst thing about America. And that is that everyone is given representation. I like the concept but of course those who do not like that concept are also owed representation.
American and I am very grateful to live in a country that afforded me massive opportunity to rise out of what is considered deep poverty here to a well compensated by any standard job. in an. imdustry I love.
Disdain for this guy and anyone still supportering him. Great country
I think it depends on where you live. America is huge. And east and west and south doesn’t get along with. I would say American dream can be there but in the long run, people are people. We are all the same. Dream is just a dream need to wake up
I have great disdain for the sinfulness of American "conservatives", and especially those who call themselves Christians. They need to be setting the example for everyone else to follow. The high percentage of those people engaging in wickedness, not bothering to vote, or voting for the wrong candidates, is very alarming
I do appreciate America. Our country is beautiful.
The country could be the best if it ever decided to look out for its own people putting aside greed for the almighty dollar/power.
