Just "what's the right age?" I'm very well aware the USA is (thanks to 1/3 MAGA) a savage capitalist dystopia with selfish inhumane morons as citizens. This question shouldn't even exist in a rational society.

The right age? Never!
Everyone should be on a national healthcare system from conception to death. This heinous "for profit" healthcare failure should be outlawed.
The whole disgusting mess of middle men taking profits off other peoples misfortune should be abolished and replaced with a single payer system with equal access for all citizens. Kids, adults, the elderly, people with injuries or disabilities, everyone.
No argument here!
That is the only thing my relative gives President Obama praise for, raising the age to 26. That relative originally voted for McCain also supported the NRA.
So, I believe yes it should be raised higher especially as insurance companies get more scummy with ways to screw YOU the American people over. Maybe have an automatic conversion system where you get free insurance extension thanks to what your parents set forth 21 and up. So when you are 26, you get your own insurance that isn’t sabotaged however uplifted by 21+ I don't know if that fixes it… If it doesn’t then raise the age yet again man.
Thank you for bringing this meaningful topic up because I like to talk about ones of meaning and substance over a choose your character Left or Right. You can walk the center road and be your own person analyzing based on numerous sources both that disagree and those that agree.
It's like car insurance, should be up to the parents
Ok but why?
Because everyone has to grow up eventually. Kids coming up have had their growth retarded.

At 26 years old they are adults and should be working and contributing to society. When I was younger the cutoff age was 18. I can remember having to get my own health insurance and provide proof on insurance before I could register for school. The college had their own insurance that was probably crappy but it was not very expensive. I remember having to pay for it. I just remember hurting my knee and the crappy insurance would not pay anything for treatment.
I think 21 is a reasonable age.
For us sure but haven't times changed?
@DrPepper12 Yes, when my kids were in college they were covered by my insurance.
So if I have children later in life, for whatever reason, and I want to retire at 62, I still have to pay for someone capable to work because they think I should pay for them, or whatever reason they justify my paying. Maybe for a full time student, cover them till age 24. After that, like most of us did while attending school, we got a job or two. To pay for our needs. My parents did enough for me; they are not responsible for my choice of education. to pay for health care. Maybe it should be part of tuition in some form
What do we owe each other then?
We only need health insurance because the medical industry is a monopoly or something of the sort. If the prices weren't as insane as they are, we wouldn't need insurance or at least the cost of insurance itself wouldn't be crazy. The same applies with car insurance. If you take a state like New Hampshire, which does not require car insurance, car insurance there is WAY cheaper because you are not compelled by the state to buy it.
The government has the power to destroy monopolies with antitrust laws but they refuse to use them because they only want more power over what we do with our lives. They want us to think that this is what capitalism is so that we would want socialism instead and handing over our freedoms in the process.
Not sure what you are asking. For private insurance I suppose they can make the age whatever they want.
For Medicaid, I THINK the age is up to and including 18, which is fine. It's actually divided into three age groups, with different eligibility requirements for each group.
26 is too old. But the kids can qualify on their own if they meet the requirements.
The cutoff being at age 26 is a bit high. At 21 years old you're considered a full adult. Unless there are specific reasons or circumstances, it should be set at 21 years old. Or 22 years old if you're a full-time student.
Also, the more liberals cry and complain about the direction of the United States, the more it proves that the United States is on the correct path.
Yes. Poverty should be a death sentence.
If someone in their early 20s is on one/both of their parents' medical/health insurance, it is highly likely that the parent (s) in question has a good career/have good careers that supplies that medical/health insurance, and it is also highly likely that those parents have built a good foundation for their adult child in their early 20s. If that person in their early 20s somehow manages to find themselves in poverty in that scenario, then that's likely due to poor life/school/training/career decisions by that person in their early 20s. No sympathy. Make better personal life/school/training/career choices and decisions as their parents did.
The extention to 26 in of itself is a tell health insurance system is a scam. If it had any leg to stand on it should work at 16 and driving, same reason why they ask you to be an organ donor.
Scam is correct word.
Hey for a more competitive capitalist society we should have free at the point of service healthcare.
Top of the line experts are stuck at their first long term job over healthcare insurance. Emergency inhaler is too expensive to look for a new job, find one and work 6 months, then wait for open enrollment. Or that opportunity is an up and coming start up but won't have any benefits for years potentially.
So it's not even savage capitalist. It's pure sadistic distaste for your fellow people.
Facts. Try and explain "sticky employment" & "sclerotic labor market" to a MAGA tho...
I kept my kids on my health insurance until they were 26, when they had to get their own insurance.
If Congress revisit this it should only ge to raise the age. No kid has to be on their parents Healthcare plan until 26. If your job gives you the coverage you need, thrn you can switch. It just gives you time to get a new job set up.
you are a whiny bitch for 52. The facts are that “Obamacare” has royally fucked up healthcare in the Us.
Yeah millions more with access to a human right. Must really piss you off that tens of thousands of kids didn't die like nature intended...
Before the affordable cares act insurance could deny pre existing conditions and you died.
It's not great but you're alive to complain about it.
It's also way more expensive. Government jobs don't have great pay but get better then average benefits. So just like the military contractors they endlessly milk money from our tax dollars because majority of our law makers created this problem signs on with a private company then retires and is on said company board.
Every day I’m stunned at how retarded the left has gotten. You find new ways to be an idio dr p. Congrats.
Like I said. Misfortune or poverty should be a death sentence according to some of you @naultd @exitseven @seeyounexttuesday
Saying something retarded twice doesn’t make it less retarded
No insurance company wants to pay extra for a kid.
Who do they wanna pay for?
That should be up to the insurance company.
Insurance is not public healthcare.
So govt policies shouldn't have policies to better the whole? Just let markets decide? If insurance companies had exclusive say they would only insure healthy people affordably!!
Twenty-six sounds like the right cut-off age.
Well, I'm not from USA, and I don't have any kids, so I can't be sure about that issue.
One thing I learned during the Trump presidency is that when people call other people names, it is really a result of their own insecurities.
I don't care. Should I?
Unless they have a disability, yes
Ok but why?
They need to buy their own
Should be at 19
Ooooooookkkkkkkaaaaaaayyyyyy why?
