Postal services in Europe and around the world plan to halt shipping merchandise to the U. S. as the Trump administration’s end of the de minimus tariff exemption goes into effect.  The de minimus exemption allowed international carriers to ship goods valued under $800 to the U. S. without paying any duties. The White House announced the end of the exemption weeks ago, linking it to fentanyl and other illicit drugs coming into the U. S.

I know India 100% has moved away from America, especially tapping into Russian Oil trade as current President of The United States of America Donald J Trump decided to put sanctions in order for India to switch back to doing business with America which hasn’t changed a damn thing.

Need I remind everyone that President Trump’s tariffs were promised on the campaign trial of 2024 to encourage buying of American made product and bring manufacturing back to America in order to stand on the world stage as a superpower yet again which is questionable as to why the same President keeps dragging his heels to implement such a positive change for American economic + foreign policy.

I still remember how Canadians banded together to stop purchasing American made product / products manufactured by American companies from external parts of the world brought to their grocery stores. Canadians saw a surplus in citizens buying Canadian made / Canadian companies rather than buying American goods.
A normal leader would accept this failed policy and course correct, but of course this President doesn’t change his mind about anything.

Need I remind everyone too, this is the same politician who flip flopped on many campaign promises. CPAC 2023 is proof he is all talk and no action. “Before I even arrive at the oval office I will have the disastrous war between Russia and Ukraine settled”.

I don’t even need to mention how tariffs on imports is a tax on import companies which leaves companies levying taxes of their own in the form of price gouging on store shelves leaving consumers with less money than they would leave with normally since tariffs on imports is paid by the consumers. It falls on the American consumers.

Import company has to pay more to bring product in -> Charges companies more to import -> Companies inflate products to make up for the loss of income -> Consumers pay for tariffs on the basis of companies inflating their product prices in price gouging.

Sorry America but most of the world is fed up with you. Canada for example is rapidly diversifying trade and security partnerships to more reliable partners. Yes there will be short term pain but the long term gain of not having to tolerate your dysfunctional politics and bullying will be well worth it. I wish you luck with your isolationism.

The crazy thing is that the tariffs will more than likely be overturned in the courts but the damage around the world will be done. Allies are now enemies and most countries have chosen to make deals with China over the US. The entire world economy has reshuffled in only half a year.

Good deal. Saving lives is always good. Another thing that is good is stopping the freeloading of other countries at our expense. Is Germany so poor that we American taxpayers needed to pickup part of their expense for things like NATO? This can be said about MOST of the countries with their expense for "protection" by nature. Let THEIR taxpayers pickup the table for a couple decades. Along with paying proper and equal share let them suck it along with all of the liberal democrats here in America who are whining, nagging, and hoping for the failure in every area with Trump's name on it!!!

Oh look at all the whining countries. They can dish it out but can't handle it when the tables are turned. Maybe they should have lowered their own tariffs BEFORE this happened. Then maybe this wouldn't have happened at all. These countries are whining but it's their own damn fault. Well fuck them.

It's suicidal move to try to stop trading in the American market. It doesn't really matter which country you are from. America is the big dog on food, energy, building materials, etc. You know the base of civilization... So when you cancel the base of civilization for your country, your civilization comes to an end.

99% of drugs that come into the USA are brought in by Americans. Not through legitimate trade. The tariffs are simply a means to an end.

'Murica needs more poor people to bleed cash from, and also more to cater to the rich. Best way to make them poor? Staggering and unmitigated inflation. These Tariffs will achieve that with amazing efficiency.

This is a temporary thing. Once the countries update their systems, which should only take a week or so, deliveries will resume.
