We need to protect the earth but global warming is a fucking scam. The earth has been much warmer many times in the past. There have been at least 4 ice ages in the past, and we are actually in the middle of one right now. We are in what's called the "interglacial period". That means the earth has been warmer than it is now at least 4 times in order for all that ice to melt. Our distance from the sun changes, that's why we have seasons. The distance during those seasons also changes year to year, depending on the position and gravitational pull of the other planets.

Right. No one is saying that it isn't hotter than it used to be, or that we shouldn't look for common sense, market based solutions to the situation. However, we when so called 'Green' energy is politicized to the it's current state and our elected officials force us into buying products we don't want, often while simultaneously taking kickbacks from their manufacturers, I don't think that's the answer.
