I suspect the Democrats simply because there will likely be a recession next year. The economic chaos created this year won't be resolved if the economy retreats and might be exacerbated. Especially, if the tariffs aren't overturned because that means that the current tariffs that are being absorbed by US companies will be passed on to the consumer and inflation will be out of control. Companies are absorbing the tariffs right now because they expect to be refunded for all the tariffs they've paid when the Supreme Courts uphold what's already been ruled on in the lower courts.

I have a business in the US and have operated businesses in the US for most of my adult life. I haven't been to the states since 2019 but I have to keep up with what's going on even though I don't care who's in charge.

It's not wasted effort because it's preparation. You have to have contingencies for everything. However, I believe the stock market will crash because only 34% of all trades in the stock market are by institutional investors which means 66% of all trades are done by regular people with limited knowledge of the stock market. Any time the percentage of institutional investor trades falls under 50% there's a risk of a market crash. Recessions usually follow crashes and the US job market is very week and new job postings have been falling every month.

After all, the whole titanic movie and Titanic situation, talked a lot about the cruelties of "class social systems" - you know.
