Have you ever been mistaken for another ethnicity?

Question

I’m African American, but I’ve been mistaken for Latina. It hasn’t happened in a while, but people have come up to me, speaking Spanish.

back in like 2017 when it was the trend to do big eyebrows (i fell into eyebrow blindness at some point...), i was asked if i was indian and at another point if i was north African. people typically asked if i was italian in that eyebrow phase which could make sense (i'm white), but indian & arab... how

aside from that, before like 15ish i was often asked if i was russian or slav. my eyebrows were very light until about that age, combined with me being porcelain pale, tallish, with light eyes, and apparently having a 'slavic' face structure.

Haha.. that’s funny when the Hispanics think you speak Spanish. I am Puerto Rican, but many people take me for anything but, so at Hispanic grocery stores when I ask a butcher for meat or fish, they always look relieved, as they’re thinking they don’t have to struggle with English. Of course many speak English, but some don’t speak it too well.

I used to suffer in school. Once, a Hispanic girl in middle school called me honky. I was so shy I didn’t say anything, but now I would have answered back in Spanish.

I've been mistaken for Latino. Apparently my youngest child thought I was black until last summer about the time she turned 8 😂. Now she says I'm not black, I'm mixed lol.

Yes. I am mostly (not entirely) British according to my ancestry dna test but some people asked if I was Russian when I went on holiday to Turkey.
