Would you ever work for the federal government?

I don't mean be a congressperson or other government official. I mean take a job for the federal government, especially considering the number of times the government has been shut down in the past decade. Also, DOGE randomly cut jobs without any oversight. IMHO it seems that taking a federal job is extremely risky.

lol. The entire purpose of DOGE was for oversight. The problem was that before DOGE there was far too little oversight, and the waste was majorly out of control.

I interviewed twice for a job with the Fed. I would view a shutdown as just a paid vacation.
