I support declaring war on Mexico based on permitting invasion and the weapons of mass destruction into the country. Millions of illegals qualify. 100 thousand drug deaths qualify. Then we send in assault teams, Marine Recon, Green Beret and Seal Teams to surgically take out the cartels starting with their haciendas and then methods of production The Mexican government is owned and afraid. The Mexican government is every bit as corrupt as the US. So stopping one cartel in one city won’t change anything. We’d have to dismantle all of the cartels and remove Mexican officials who were known to be in league with them. That would certainly become an international hot button issue and other nations would have to be consulted before that move could be made unilaterally.

Drug cartels don't give a fuck. They can just tow narco subs some distance or use more shipping containers.

And refugees would be deterred to some extent from entering Mexico but then you'd have more Mexican refugees fleeing the war.

You might be better off invading Panama and controlling the flow there.
