Like do you realise being against the ice raids means you're supporting conglomerations who want to monopolize the food industry and use illegals as slave labor. Going as far as to steal passports, force extra labor, house them in places that might not have running water. Etc.

Stuff like that happens to people here on visas so imagine what happens to the illegals.

Then imagine how much easier it is for mcdonalds to get away with this vs. A mom and pop farm.

The small farms try to compete by hiring immigrants through labor contractors who do the same things as the mega corporations but imagine how easily that can be gamed to.

Then you gotta remember who let all these people in in the first place.

It's somewhat of a fair point but when you factor in these illegals are here because of foreign entities who benefit from their labor I think there's a very serious conversation we should be having about the fact this is an emergency response to an emergency situation. It's really only after acknowledging the situation that we can make it better.

The thing is these are not foreign entities. At least in terms of agriculture, these are American corporations that are taking advantage of the fact that they don't have to pay illegal immigrants the prevailing wage rate and instead have much lower labor costs and higher profits as a result.

You don't seem to understand how this works. If you pay Americans to do this, assuming you can even get them to do this work which is highly unlikely. You have to pay them the legal prevailing wage. If you can get illegal aliens to do it and they do this very readily because they need the money and they make sort of a profession out of it, you can pay them a lot less than the legal prevailing wage. This means your profits go up which means you can sell your product for somewhat less than you otherwise would. Your idea that it depends on shoplifting. It's just your usual BS and your usual slander of immigrants. This has nothing to do with shoplifting. People do not shoplift vegetables for God's sake.

Look, one time I did ask for some government assistance. I was working a shitty sales job and making 500 dollars a year below the poverty level for a family of 4. All i got was a blank stare and a bunch of excuses- so thanks for nothing. Somehow we managed. We had shitty health insurance too. It did not pay for shit. If we had to spend 50 bucks to take one of the kids to the doctor we could not go to the supermarket that week. Just a lousy 25 bucks a week would , have made a big difference. But I was the wrong race to get any help.
Same thing with financial aid. I never got any for myself. i had to drop out of college twice because I could not pay tuition. My kids filled out all the forms and I jumped through all the hoops. Again just a blank stare and a bunch of excuses. So thinks for nothing but don;t expect me to put everyone else;s kid through college. Let the lazy bums work for it like I had to.
