How would a seatbelt have prevented him from getting shot? If anything it would have made him a more stable target for the shooter. Why would you need a seatbelt going 5 mph anyway? And he wouldn't have kept us out of Vietnam, he was headed there full speed ahead, Johnson just continued what he was doing.
