I always find the best conversations come out when it's just one on one. People are more likely to share deep stuff with each other when it's just one other person. When you add even one other person to the mix, it suddenly becomes a less personable people generally become much more hesitant to share details about their lives. It's a strange dynamic. But I'm going to say I absolutely agree with it. And I've noticed it when it comes to my friends. They're a completely different person if it's more than just me and them. They put on a facade in groups.

Nah, like everything it's situational. Sometimes 2 people want to be alone together. But that's probably ~25% of the time. The other 75% most people like being in a group. Most humans are herd animals, LOL.

I don't. That saying is a comment on third persons intruding or inviting themselves to a desired one-on-one meeting. This is a very old idea. In "I've Got a Little List" in "The Mikado", W. S. Gilbert wrote: "All third parties who on spoiling tête-têtes insist, they'd none of them be missed..."
