Insubordinate in the sense that we're all Americans. Her job is to bring clarity to the American people. Being there represents you've been trusted to relay messages from the Whitehouse in a truthful manor, relevant to the situation At hand.

When you're asking questions with the express purpose of encouraging discourse and turmoil in the country... Possibly for the benefit or by instruction of a foreign power, that's Insubordinate.

i fail to see how asking a honest reporting question isn't going to be controversial somehow? softball questions at interviews isn't what people want.

@Sevenpointfive because the reporter knew the answer to the question was too complicated to relay in a way they couldn't manipulate. That's why. It's not about a soft or hard question it's about manipulating a situation to suit your agenda

he resorted to badmouthing the murdered. he knew exactly what she was asking and couldn't be honest about it. it wasn't difficult to answer but it was a loaded question that needs an answer. i'm not sure there's any point in asking for the truth anymore...

Anybody who keeps up with the news knows the answers to these questions. That's why it wasn't worth a response because the only people who don't already know are people who get their news from clips of desperate reporters trying to ask gotchya questions because somehow to them that's informative

@Telekinetic-Potato yep that's my parents who are in their 70's. my mother watches the news more than she prays. (i hope they don't take this religiously lol. t. v. doesn't need religion in it's programming lol) so she only knows about a story that's national. something is going on and all she will understand is the title of the story and that has to be enough. she's really into local news though. my father doesn't really pay attention to it. if he hears news it's because someone else told him something and he looked into it.

He has taken away the license of a reporter in the past when he the reporter asked a question he didn't like. Imagine that--the reporter was not able to work for about 2 weeks. That's taking away freedom of the press. He is very controlling and does not care what he does to crush those who are against them. Lunatic.

He take away his license, he banned him from the WH press pool. It was Jim Acosta. The reason behind it was because Acosta pushed a woman's hand) arm out of the way when she was trying to take the microphone from him. He also never asked a question, he was making a statement, which is out of line.

@Twodogs0525 His press credentials temporarily suspended in November 2018, following a news conference. A federal judge ordered the White House to temporarily restore his credentials, and his access was restored shortly after. I have the clip here. Does it look like he is pushing the woman's arm away to you? Yes, Jim Acosta asked questions, Trump was pissed off from the start, with his tone, attitude , and arrogance. That's why most people do not like him as a person.

You didn't look hard enough. Acosta was on CNN that night talking about his WH ban. I didn't necessarily agree with it either but what I also don't agree with, is Acosta considering himself a"journalist". He's as much a journalist as Hannity or Tucker Carlson! The difference is, they call themselves talk show hosts or tv personalities.

yes! omg, that was hilarious! RIP to the journalist (was he American?) who got murdered by the man making peace with trump. and when she asked trump about him he doubled down and called the dead journalist a really bad guy? it's hard to see him do this to himself but i've lost all of the little respect i had for him almost a year ago. he's just a means to an end.

"On this point, Trump says the prince has done a "phenomenal job" and says "he knew nothing about [the murder]".

He also claims Khashoggi himself was "extremely controversial", adding "a lot of people didn't like that gentleman that you're talking about, whether you like him or didn't like him, things happened, but he [the prince] knew nothing about it"."

lots I could say, but I'll leave this here for others to make their and draw their own conclusions.

Now that... I agree with! He's been that way since... well... a long time ago. there's no humility. I see why people can't stand him. it's why I didn't vote for him first time around.
TDS is a real thing right?
All I can say is... and I did this with my congressman... focus on the actual issue, not the personality. that is very hard in his case, maybe impossible once emotionally despising... TDS.
When I do, I know where I land on most issues.
Easy to tell the Prince "you murdered him, you know it, should be in prison, we'll investigate it and get Kashoggi justice!". And then what?
It's been an open issue long time... he's not taking on that issue, he's kissing A to get sales for jobs to align the "brats" in the middle east and control people.
That's all it is... it's disgusting I know, it's not standing on a high platform of righteousness and truth and good.
The diff between you and I is I spent a lot of early years around, not sure what psychologists call them.. I call them Bull shitters. So I can differentiate bullshit but not react to it... sometimes. Stock market is another level of BS and I've had to learn that still learning, different "Shitters".
My congressman shot out BS as well but it was clear what he said. Very sick demented guy, democrat. Evil. But he "got" his voters under control and that's what it's all about...
      "Control"... and you know it...

Okay, I need to tell you about his emotional problems and his mental disorder both affect his insight and judgment to the extent that he is dangerous to others and in some respects to himself as well. It is impossible to ignore the psychiatric issues and pretend that his reasoning skills such as they are, are intact. They are not and he's demonstrably deranged at this as well suggesting the possible emergence of dementia. It is unreasonable to expect anyone to simply ignore these things because you find them offensive in some fashion or whatever the difficulty is that you have with it.

      Maybe he is.

Do you think governments should be allowed to murder and dismember journalists they don't like?

Trump didn't have to publicly work together with the Saudis, didn't have to invite them to the WH, and certainly didn't have to suggest the victim had it coming.

@goaded "Do You think..." - of course not. but it's saudi arabia. There's a reason I don't go to middle east! There's a reason I don't welcome that culture in general, but I tolerate them as minority. you don't want to cede to much control to them. Some on democrat side ushered them into usa... bad decision. I understand the culture to some extent, keep it over there. its not the first time a muslim cut someones head off for being dis-honored. it is not a free democratic country under laws, its under a "king" and they provide the oil you have to have. So generations of politicains have kissed rear end.
See my above answer, id prefer he take a different communication or even punt those questions, but he hasn't been calling me up for advice. I can only imagine how this go with Joe or Kamala, those were the options. you decide. I do prefer trumps open dialog vs the behind the closed doors or non existent president options.
Trump just wanted to sell some planes... they didn't have to dig up the past. Should they dig up other skeltons as well? its almost like the media wants to find anything that will screw things up so they can make troubles. most of the questions were reasonable,

there is some irony he sits next to guy that had someone murdered... probably... and then calls the reporter such vile names.
Biden did not sanction or cut off oil supplies. Dude wa not convicted. If want to stand on high ground, why didn't that happen before? Because control wins over right and wrong. I have no faith Harris could handle this better, certainly not as arrogantly as trump, but not better.

There's a difference between talking with distasteful regimes, like Biden, and fêting them, like Trump. Especially if the reason is to enrich the president. Morals, remember?

"When Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) arrived at the White House yesterday, he was met by a Marine band, officers on horseback carrying the Saudi and American flags, and fighter jets flying over the White House in a V formation.

It was far more pomp than visiting foreign leaders normally receive. "

I expect you'd like people to ignore the damage Trump is doing to the reputation of the US worldwide, but it's not going to happen.

@goaded fair view. I bet if you looked nationally at it, the left would think like you, the right would not. its the division of perspective. with every president I accept the crap and hope for the best. When new options are presented, I make best choice I can.
Sadly he does kiss up to powerful people... and the reason is... to control them. To others whom are not powerful... including allies... he will kick them down and abuse them. That's whom he is... personality...@msc454 knows that or should, it was clear. I think he married someone like that. Its not ideal, but it works in some ways and not in others.
the negative effect will show up in inflation, right? I see no way around that... unless he really can get all this capital and build high paying jobs... but still, it will be inflationary. inflation countered by if the usa can grow while squashing other nations with military power while they inflate faster... the race to the bottom! Like all presidents, you bite your lip, focus on what is true and good, and ride the wave... or else get crushed by it. I could bi! tch about every president, some were worse than others. I predict less death under Trump, but more suffering for some he targeted.. mainly because immigrants sent home to their miserable countries.
When I met Canadians on vaca this year... they are very reasonable and aware of the situation. They are not delusional, and we had excellent discussions, not anger, but realism of the situation. I talk to Canadians daily... you know, the people that should hate me, would still like to move here!
I suggest you take some vacations this year and explore... be good for you. If you have not traveled, than ask me.
When your eyes are opened more, maybe you'll think with a better viewpoint. not saying you'll change your disgust for this man, that ain't gonna happen. Maybe you'll join me in other forms of disgust.

You're describing a pathetic bully. Do you think Trump controls Mohammed bin Salman, Un, Xi, Putin? Really? From here it looks like anyone who flatters or bribes him gets what they want.

There's more than one way to kill people. Screwing up the Covid response in the first term, for one. He's murdering people on the water around South America (strangely without prosecuting the ones that survived and were captured), cancelling USAID is letting hundreds of thousands of people die, letting the ACA subsidies lapse is going to let tens of thousands of Americans suffer and die... He says the US doesn't have talent, which have something to do with his appointees destroying the education system and even the CDC, which now touts anti-vax nonsense.

I've been to five continents, including the US and Canada, hell, I've got American, French (including North African), Australian, German and British family. If you think you can open my eyes more, why don't you just explain your positions? "When your eyes are opened more" is up there with "Do your own research" when it comes to cop-outs.

That's without talking about Trump telling his supporters that congresspeople are traitors, punishable by death, while pardoning violent criminals and people who can make him rich or covered for his crimes around the 2020 election.
