Do you ever feel like you should've been smart enough to know you could get rich off crypto?

I feel like I should've had the vision to think this could potentially mean big money and to put some money in to it early. Worst case scenario I lose money that would not have much of an impact on my life, and the upside was SO much higher. I don't know. :/

Does it ever occur to you that what you're describing is essentially a lottery and a pyramid scheme? Look at the fundamental design of crypto and the regulatory environment (doesn't exist) and therefore the risks. Look at the actual usefulness of the virtual currency. What's it goof for? Start to answer those questions and you start to realize crypto is a con job targeting people with poor cognitive ability.

sure. But I could’ve been one of those people who benefited from it. I remember people were talking about Dogecoin when it first came out and how much they would have if it had a dollar. Never hit a dollar but it hit $.58. So if those people cashed out, they could’ve done very nicely.

Well then do it now... I think that there is a purpose for regert. Its knowing you made a mistake, so you can not do it again. if you want to not feel regert don't make the same mistake. The last thing you said was that the pros out ways the cons. If thats the case why aren't you trusting yourself and doing it now? if you really think you are smart enough to deserve this, you have to trust yourself not the crypto...

Its easy to see what you should have done after. Its another thing to trust yourself in the moment...

crypto is one source of investment. There are lots of opportunities in the US

yiu need to be smart enough to study the next thing. If you are between 36-45, you still have 10-15 years to do well. But you have to be smart about what to invest in.

Only maybe in the sense of how ridiculously valuable it's gotten. Assuming you had 100k. You could put a 1000 dollars into 100 different investments with potential. And odds are only 1 of them are going to pan out. So in other words if you lost your Investment on the other 99 you would need a 10,000% on this one to break even.

This is why I don't kick myself about bitcoin, or any other get rich quick scheme. I'm all about steady returns. And once you get to solid amount in your portfolio, then it builds on itself. Now I make more in my portfolio annually then I made in my best year working.

It's fine to make thing like Bitcoin part of your portfolio. But make it a small part. Because, risk-reward my friend.

I did a payment system unit at uni and was sort of interested but is was hard to do the early days. I spent a bit of time seeing if I could hack the proof of work.

I don't it was that anticipated that it be as gainfull as t was though the lecturer said she had enough to buy a house which did impress us students.

Smart people wouldn't buy made up, unregulated currency that's not backed by gold or a country that you can't spend anywhere. People who got rich in crypto were just lucky, not smarter.

backed by nothing and wide open for someone to take. You need electricity to use and 80% of businesses take it for product or services.

There are over 30 million registered businesses in the US and only 2300 accept Bitcoin. It's too unstable as a currency and it's hard to see a future. As an investment, it's great if you can time the market. At the beginning of Oct it was over 125k and last Friday it was 83k. It will probably go back to 125k and you could make an easy 50%. Eventually it will either stabilize and be used as a currency or it may never catch on as a currency and go down to zero. You might be kicking yourself in 5 years for not shorting it if it becomes worthless. There are plenty of companies out there trading for under $10 ready to pop next year. You just have to know what your looking for and get a little lucky.
