What gives you meaning and motivates you to act in the world?

What are you chasing? What motivates you to make the decisions you do or execute the tasks you need to?

Immediate reward? A larger vision? To aid others? To be successful or worthy of respect?

I want to get my dad a place to live when he burns out and buy my mom a villa with a bunch of actors living there because she's kinda going insaine and might need that.

I want to write a book about how I think my family should continue to give direction in times where things start to fall apart like they did when I was growing up.

I want to have like 11 kids and watch them do crazy shit with their lives

And I want to start a bunch of businesses and give thousands of people good lives. Be a part of destroying the corporate ugliness that has plagued our world. I'll encourage my employees to get together and compete against me (they'll never win anyway lol) and I hope they put every bastard hedge fund out of business with me and never go public.

I don't care if I never get any of it done. I'll try my best every day. If I'm one step towards any of those goals and someone picks up any one of them, that's good too. Just trying is a lot of fun. Waking up every day and deciding to be totally nuts has given me a life I never thought I would get to live.

But why become the best version of yourself? Is growth a goal in itself?

For me, what motivates me is to be helpful to others and contribute positively to their lives. I am also driven by a need to understand, categorize, and grasp how the world works and the people in it.
