Every year, I typically give money to 6 or 7 of my favorite charities, most of them charities that help children.

Very little in terms of money because i did some reading about the unfortunate reality of charity collections. Many of them are outright fraudulent and even the altruistic ones waste a ton of their donations on administrative expenses and bullsh*t.
Now i donate my time. This way i can see the benefits of my contribution in real time and nobody can take what i’m offering and walk away with it. Plus i get to meet the people we’re helping. Otherwise it can be too easy to believe that everyone taking handouts is some sort of con artist who doesn’t really deserve the help they’re getting.
Yes, a few regularly that I have a personal connection with, and often when friends ask, like birthday fundraisers or campaigns
Thank you ☺️
I used to more than now. I used to give to St. Jude until I read that their CEO makes $5 million a year. I'm not paying some big whig's salary which doesn't actually help the kids. Some of these charities are really rip offs. You can check each charity at Charity Navigator and see how much of their income really goes to the veterans, kids, or others. If at least 75% doesn't go to those that need it and instead to officer's salaries and operating costs, they don't get my support.
Yes to St Jude Children's Hospital and to several local food banks.

A few.
I send a few bucks to an Indian school in South Dakota once in a while.
I also donate to a local, privately owned, nonprofit, no-kill animal shelter, and to a wonderful, local, nonprofit homeless shelter. I can guarantee what they do with the money.
I never donate to large charities, except for occasional nonprofit donations to pro-second amendment organizations.
I don't give money away to charities no... but I do get involved with the community with time and resources, service, donations... but never just give money away
at least in this area, cats and doggos need a lot of help, so I do like to help the people who actually help them, a lot
I am very sceptical of professionally run charities. In a lot of cases much of the donations goes on their internal bureaucracy. Maybe 60%.
I am happy to give to charities but not to expensive psychologists for example. Always give to funds for people burn out by bushfires and children if the charity is amateur. Directly giving toys means it gets through.
I give as much as I can, when I can. International humanitarian collapse like South Sudan. But last year it was local kids charities... get a poor kid through school and you may change his or her world... we have government welfare payments for adults and I am uninterested in topping that up when personal choice and lack of responsibility often contribute.
I thout public school is free
@strateguy632 Tuition is free. But that doesn't get all kids through. Tell a drowning person that oxygen is free.
I use this outfit: www.thesmithfamily.com.au/christmas-charity I assume there are similar ventures in the USA.
Different people have different priorities for charity and I respect whatever you choose to do with your gifts.
I donate money to the Special Olympics❣️ This is a wonderful organization.
I think they call it the paralympics now...
@CaptainSmartass
All of the paperwork and envelopes said Special Olympics
I always donate to our local animal shelter. I volunteered there once but I just couldn't do it 'cuz it broke my heart and I wanted to bring every one of them home.
Nice but what about humans
@strateguy632 They're not locked in a kennel and scheduled to be killed if not "adopted" within a certain time.
@RandomGirl42 Yes, We got both our cats from a shelter. I used to tell Harry that if it wasn't for me he would have been gassed a long time ago.
@exitseven That is awesome! 💗 Even if Harry doesn't look impressed. 🤣
There are one or two that I donate money to but I think most of them are scams. The people that run them get big salaries and the crumbs go to the people in need. Just to be on the safe side I do no give to any of them.
Charities are a scam to line the pockets of those in charge. For that reason, I do not give money to any charity. I sometimes give time to local groups though. For instance, I volunteered at my local animal shelter when I was young. I considered doing it again as an adult, but the one local to me now is another business that obviously doesn't need my time.
Not hugely, but yes. Depends on the charity. I favour talking charities that help with mental health. I have little time for cancer charities. I just think it's a particularly bogus industry, and that dramatic holistic lifestyle changes are needed in a person's life.
I give money to the Salvation Army bell ringers in their buckets at Walmart every year at Christmas time. 👍🙂
I don't make direct donations, but if they're are some charity events or markets, I like to buy something if possible
No. I worked in accounting. Charities are legal money laundering schemes for rich people. They only have to give like 8 or 10% to the actual charity. The rest of the money goes to their family members that work at the charity. I give my money directly to the needy.
Other than shopping in their stores, I play a lottery with one of the cancer ones and volunteer for a community one
Yes I do, it's a great way to support less fortunate kids and get a tax write off for doing it.
I used to give my time.
Giving money just doesn’t solve the problem. And gets passed to greedy organizers.
Yes I do, primarily the same as you, but also make a monthly donation to T2T
@AviatorTom Thank you for the Like
@AviatorTom Periodically I donate to Boys Town, as I think a good organization, and to animal protective groups
I don't. Not because I don't care but because I think they are all scams. If you want to donate funds for a cause you're better off paying it as a tithe at a church.
If I was rich I would but I’m not financially well off so no I don’t give to charities currently
Rich? Anyone can give. some give smaller some give more
Yes, several. Some monthly, some on a quarterly rotating basis.
Only humanist ones that are accountable with their donations.
Yes I do. It is nice to be able to do so.
If I had the money I definitely would.
I mainly give to dog charities.
Simples...
Fuck no. No one is doing a damn thing to help me financially. Humans are rotten, and they don't deserve my help, support, or money
@AviatorTom yes but only local
I did, twice this year.
Yes, every month for years. DAV.
No i dont, billionaires must be doing this, not poor people like us
I donate monthly to the local SPCA.
Charities? 'Bah humbug!' J. k.
Yes sure.
Sure
Sure, unlike MAGANS.
Look at the lefty loon up on his high horse and virtue signaling yet again. 🤮
yes we do..
yes I do
