For years I've always had a sense that the world is getting closer to the end, but this feeling has seemed to increase rapidly over the last few years. I don't know what the bad thing could be. Maybe a real world war, a devastating global depression, or something else terribly bad.
What do you guys think?
Something massively bad can always happen. But crisis is most often opportunistic. And a lot of people don’t understand the concept of “peace through strength”. The phrase long pre-existed the Trump administration. It is not a “MAGA slogan”. It’s how the world operates and it’s why the ancient civilizations like the Roman Empire enjoyed over 200 years of peace. It was because the Romans were immensely powerful.
There is also an old saying “evil prevails when good men fail to act”. It actually goes back to the Genesis. Adam was actually standing right next to Eve when the serpent tempted her to eat the forbidden fruit. He didn’t say a word and even worse he took the fruit she offered without question.
The serpent also went to Eve first for a reason: she was easier to emotionally manipulate. But the serpent knew that if he could manipulate Eve first then he could manipulate Adam. It’s because although men are generally harder to manipulate we have always had one major Achilles heel: women. The entire Trojan War was started over a woman.
Long analogy short. Something “massively bad” is much more likely to happen if men stay passive and don’t protect what matters most to us. And the devil will first manipulate women with the end goal of manipulating men.
That’s how evil works. It doesn’t come head on. It looks chinks in your armor.
Adam must have been close by though. Because it’s not she had to go looking for him to hand over the fruit. He accepted it from her and ate without question too (the serpent had to cajole Eve)
But look at the false seductive promise the serpent gave Eve. He told her “your eyes will be open and you will be like God yourself”.

Perhaps it needs to. Those who remember the horrors of WW2 are all but gone, and those who grew up listening to them are soon to follow. The lessons learnt are fading, healed wounds forgotten.
But now online we see the hate stirrers, we've politicians pushing hate agendas, presidents threatened wars against allies. there's even someone on here talking about eliminating certain groups.
Perhaps every now and then we need a bloody nose to remind us to calm the fuck down.
