Does anyone else find this alarming?

My neighborhood is very white and very rich. It's also very conservative. Because of this there is little to no chance ICE will ever come in here. I feel safe because of this. I'm concerned because the lack of federal law enforcement makes me feel more secure than otherwise.

No, iot is not alarming at all. I am sure that you worked hard to be able to afford living in a nice neighborhood. I moved to a nice town years ago. It is not one of the real expensive towns where people have BLM signs om their front lawns so they feel better about themselves but to afford to live there you really need to have a good job.
I find it offensive when the state tries to force a so called low income housing development in town. Therer is already one already and more than half of the police calls come from there,

This isn't a very rich area, some people are white, some are black, some are Milada and a new guy that moved in across the street from me last summer doesn't speak a word of English. If he's illegal and ICE comes for him, they aren't gonna bother me!! Neither is their being here to get him!

I just think the US isn't living up to its potential. I am a patriot. We should do better; we can do better. That's what I believe. Even if we are the best, it doesn't mean we should stop striving to be better. The goal shouldn't be "better than the rest" it should be "better than we were yesterday"

I didn't say that we've been better. I'm not saying that we need to make ourselves great again. I already thought we were great and still think we're the best country in the world. Is it wrong for me to want this country to reach its potential. A nationalist wants us to be better than others. I don't really care how good other countries are, as long as the U. S. is reaching its potential, or working towards it. I'm pretty sure systematically dismantling The Constitution is not the correct way.

Apparently, ICE is allowed to violate the 4th amendment. There are multiple violations of the 6th amendment. People are and were being held for violating the 1st Amendment. And that's just to name a few. All happened since January 20, 2025. As for being the best, we are, but it seems that MAGA believes we must go in reverse to remain great. In other words, we were better before Trump was POTUS and need to go back to then with Trump as POTUS. I feel that we need to start at the level we're at and move upwards.

it's the difference between "legal" and not legal. my area is mixed and people here could get visited and by mistake. all should be documented, but probably won't be. we'll only see the sensational ones on tv.

there is no guarantee on this because in places like nyc areas can be very white... it's the most segregated place on the planet... maybe... yet, the area could be all russian, or ukranian, or polish, etc.. so yes, they could visit there.

It's ok for you to happy you feel safe and also be unhappy that others don't get this same privilege. If you didn't care about communities that differ from yours in financial class and race, as well as feel like they deserve negative attention from, that would be alarming.
