If he gets nomination , he will be the Next President. He is 3rd most popular Governor in US. He has been elected twice as Gov of Kentucky , a Red State. Jobs are good. Education moving up. Is considered a moderate. Pro Farmer and Small Business. Dislikes Tariffs and likes Trade.

But who wins the presidency is extremely unpredictable. It's pretty common for US presidents to be people I never heard of before they ran. The most well known names almost never win.

I agree it will probably be a Democrat. The pendulum swings, just like it always has. In this case, Trump isn't exactly representing conservatives well. So the left wins and thinks they have a "mandate". So they go too far left on the momentum. Then the pendulum swings back the other way. It's self correcting for both the left and right.

Trump is a Democrat not a Conservative. He only ran as a Republican to win nomination . He would have not have gone anywhere running as a Democrat.

He could have won as a Democrat. He's a marketing guy. He's a New Yorker in the construction business who dealt with unions his whole life. He got more crossover votes than anyone in recent history, maybe ever. He got the labor vote which has historically been solid Democrat.

The Democrat vote, especially in some of the swing states (the rust belt) put him over the top. Ohio, Michigan. Minnesota, Wisconsin, etc. The union workers have wanted protectionist policies for decades (tariffs). That vote put him over the top. In 2016, he would not have had to change his rhetoric much to win as a Democrat.

In 2024 he moved to the right a little and started acting a little more like a conservative. But he still has a lot of Democrat in him. He has NEVER been solidly right or left. He's always been in the middle. That's why he has switched parties at least five times in his life. Trump is Trump, not Democrat or Republican.

I've never even heard of the guy, and I think he mostly sticks to the business of Kentucky. That is good for the people in Kentucky but perhaps not good for a potential presidential campaign.
