Yes, because everybody in the EU has to have the same rights and obligations. But I'm talking about new legislation - independent from the EU - that the UK wanted to create against their migrant situation? Here we are also introducing stricter immigration laws, in addition to a more advanced border protection.

@DryGermanGuy Yes, that is about optics. We had some news report didn't we a few months ago? But as far as I recall it seems to mostly relate to asylum seekers. Illegal migration actually represents a small proportion of the total. Most of it is legal. I think we had 700000 new arrivals last year. Then the government tries to spin this as a success because net was something like 200000. But that is only because so many British people left at the same time. There was an absolute exodus of young British people.

Philosophically, the Labour government, and those more generally on the left, are in favour of 'compassion' and mass migration. Given their philosophical proclivities, nothing will change. They just have to make it appear that they're doing something because of the impending Reform government. But they still have another 3+ years to absolutely obliterate the country, don't they? And by God, they will use the time to do so to their utmost.

Furthermore, it's almost impossible to deport anyone due to the court system and all of the international legislation that we are party to.

So no, nothing will change.

I don't really know about the German situation. But unless you have a genuine right wing government, I don't believe that for one moment.

Well, I was under the impression that New Labour specifically campaigned on the promise of solving the immigration situation, post-Brexit. I don't think that increasing deportations of foreign criminals is a long shot?
In Germany we do have a center-right administration, with CDU/CSU ministers pushing exactly these elements, stronger EU borders, more German controls, less legal immigration, more deportations. We have started to deport criminal convicts to Syria and Afghanistan and there is legislation worked on that pushes for a controlled return of the majority of Syrian refugees. With the Ukrainian situation to be handled similarly after the end of the war.

If you can possibly do so, make your way to the Bulgarian border. A political refugee can enter Bulgaria. Bulgaria's immigration policies allow for the acceptance of refugees and asylum seekers, including those with political asylum. I would say that as a Kurd, you qualify.
