Overall, there is concrete evidence that the populations of blue states are decreasing while the populations of red states are increasing. Simply put, many are leaving liberal states for conservative states, and it's not just because of the weather

It’s not that simple, though. Here in my grand state of “misery” (Missouri), they bleed red through and through. But at the same time, they’ve allowed the use of recreational marijuana, a very liberal policy. It’s is a notorious economic depressor, that’s why it’s classified at the federal level as some schedule of illegal drug. Select states simply overrode it, similar to abortion trigger laws. The proponents claim it brings in additional tax revenue, what they don’t talk about are the repercussions it has on other industries when people start coming to work high, they can’t directly quantify it because the effects can be very subtle and easily mistaken for natural causes. I myself believes it causes productivity to drop across many sectors, aka people get lazy without realizing it. What’s more, I see some so called conservatives smoking the shit, when it’s an extremely liberal policy to legalize it.

People keep trying to draw lines in the sand while the waves of reality keep crashing down on them blurring everything.

In the same breath, they want to cry about abortion? I can’t take a lot of identified conservatives or liberals seriously sometimes when they’re making hypocrites of themselves from their hybridized blend of political stances. It makes them more independent on the spectrum rather than explicitly red or blue, maybe they’re purple.

I know what you mean. I lived in Chicago for forty years, and the speed with which the quality of life have plummeted is astounding, almost entirely due to the actions of its elected officials and school administrators.
