Silicone valley is created in creating the tech and internet boom, the entire world becomes reachable at your fingertips at a computer. That ultimately created a new venture in making insane amount of money no matter where you are.

It is honestly surprising it took this long and a pandemic to do this but people are invested in keeping people locked up in areas inspite of profits. Those investments are breaking down how profitable doing your own business wherever you want to live.

Big thing to do is make internet connection a basic human right in the same way we use phones. See that universal service fee on your cell phone? That was used to build lines for $50 connection fee in the middle of buttfuck nowhere that cost $10,000 or more to install. We can do the same with high speed internet. That investment would grow our gdp 10 fold then the costs.

California will probably still be the most expensive state having perfect weather all year round and no mosquitoes. But you don't have to live thier for your work. Then it becomes a better supply and demand economy.

Why? Regular droughts and wildfires that destroy areas bigger than some European nations. Muggings, robberies, carjackings, rape and murder are rampant. Cities filled with literal human shit. Hobos doing heroin in broad daylight and stabbing people. All the crime there is being supported by DA's who's only goal is to get criminals back on the streets ASAP. Oh, and if you want the privilege of living a shithole be ready to fork up 7 figures for an apartment the size of a shoebox. And their governor isn't doing shit about any that, but he'll go on Twitter every other week to bitch about Florida protecting their kids. This isn't even getting into tax rates that are just state sponsored muggings.

Rampant crime, insane tax rates, restrictive government policies crippling the development of their children, environmental disasters annihilating areas the size of small nations, politicians whose response to the above is to push for slavery reparations... Why would anyone STAY?

I can't say where all of them are going, but quite a few have shown up here in Florida; I'm told it's even worse further south. I can only blame them so much; I, too, fled the insane conditions of a one-party state, but I, at least, realize how things GOT so bad in Illinois, and vote accordingly. I doubt that most of them will do the same.
