this is a good question. It really is both. Self Respect involves adhering to a personal code of conduct. That means not allowing things that violate that code as well as refusing to do something that also does not align with your values.

In what you allow. Boundaries can be white picket fences or the Berlin wall based on how they're respected. I truly wish in many cases I had allowed less from people.
