I have heard some people say Trump Derangement syndrome is a mental illness.

The truth is that it is not a mental illness. The American Psychological Association (APA) does not recognize "Trump Derangement Syndrome" (TDS) as a mental illness.

Trump Derangement syndrome is not included in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5)

There's also an element, where all these people who support trump feel a sense of kinship with fellow likeminded individuals.

So if they don't ignore the facts, that whole construct crumbles
