I think it would go a lot like the Civil War, when the agrarian Confederates somehow imagined they could defeat the wealthier industrialized Union. What would the right wing be fighting for? The ability to impose Christianity and other intolerant beliefs on others.

We're all aware that the parties switched positions in the middle of the 20th century, particularly after President Johnson shepherded the passage of the Civil Rights Act or 1964. Since then the Republicans have been the right wing party, and the Democrats the left wing.

Clearly the right wing wins being the dominate demographic in the military. Heavy armor, air superiority, military doctrine and training, military intelligence, etc. You're looking at the left losing hundreds of units for every one right wing solider.
