831 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Nuclear facilities are just buildings
They can just as easily be rebuilt
Even after the destruction of the facilities last year Iran still purchased more uranium that the US ended up intercepting in the Indian ocean
Just because they don’t have nukes right now doesn’t mean they won’t have them if left unchecked another 5 to 10 years
Letting the hamster wheel keep on turning will only create more proxy wars that cost the lives of thousands of people from various countries while the Iranian regime sits pretty avoiding all direct damage
This operation is a long overdue karmic justice and a much needed showstopper to end this charade once and for all21 Reply- 3 mo
Rebuilding nuclear power plants takes at least 5 years. The cost of building a nuclear power plant is at least $20 billion. We have to acknowledge that Trump lied to his own people.

3 moI believe during negotiations with Iran trumps team said no more enriching uranium and Iran said they would keep enriching. Iran was dead set on having a nuclear bomb. No other country in the history of the world enriched to 60% and didn’t build a bomb. Iran was at 60% when Trump hit them the first time.
Iran would be one of the few countries that if they had a bomb they would use it to fire at an enemy. Also if Iran got a nuke then every other country in that region would also want to have a bomb as a deterrent.
Trump is right…. Iran can never have nuclear capabilities.29 Reply- 3 mo
Possessing nuclear weapons is a problem. But I think the US's real focus isn't on nuclear weapons, but on the region's oil wealth.
- 3 mo
How do you know that "Iran was at 60% when Trump hit them the first time."? Were you monitoring the centrifuges and the uranium enrichment levels?
How do you know that "Iran would be one of the few countries that if they had a bomb they would use it to fire at an enemy? Are you a member of the Iranian government? Do you make policy for Iran?
I am guessing that you do not monitor the centrifuges and you do not monitor the uranium enrichment levels. I think that you probably do not know what Iran would do if they had a nuclear weapon.
I think that you just make statements like this because they reflect your political beliefs that are formed only based on your own personal opinions and not on anything having to do with reality.
If this is the case, why don't you just say so instead of acting like you actually know what's going on because you don't? - 2 mo
@msc545. https://www.iranintl.com/en/202509229643
Maybe because Iran said they wanted to build a nuke. Check the link above. And that was September of last year. BEFORE Trump bombed their nuke site. Trumps negotiation team offered Iran uranium for medical and power use as long as they did not enrich. Iran said no. They wanted to enrich…. Why? They want a bomb. - 2 mo
Yes, look at the first paragraph of that article: "Dozens of Iranian lawmakers have called for a fundamental shift in the country’s defense policy, urging authorities to consider building a nuclear weapon as a deterrent, Iranian media reported on Monday."
Notice the use of the word "deterrent". A deterrent means that it's something that is supposed to prevent something. The Iranians are not stupid. They understand that possessing a nuclear weapon will constitute their insurance against the United States making war with them, which would include invading them in some cases. Unfortunately, they didn't get to build it quickly enough, and right now that's exactly what the United States is doing. I contend that the United States would never have attacked them if they had had a nuclear weapon, because the United States has always refrained from attacking countries that possess nuclear weapons.
It's very difficult to blame people for protecting themselves. Trump started an unprovoked, illegal war with these people and is busily killing them for no particular reason at all, other than the fact that he doesn't like them, but most importantly, because he wants their oil. This is absolutely wrong and illegal. I wish that the Iranians had been able to build their weapon quickly enough that it would have deterred Trump, but they weren't able to. - 2 mo
@msc545. You are right…. It was a much better strategy to stop deranged radical fanatics from building a weapon of mass destruction by dropping 1.7 billion dollars on a run way, and the Biden administration gave them 6 billion. And yet they still kept working on a nuclear bomb.
Personally I prefer sending billions of $$$ in bombs to Iran and maybe freeing the people of Iran like they were BEFORE deranged radical fanatics took over - 2 mo
You're not freeing them from anything. You're killing them with those bombs. They're going to keep doing what they do, and the reason that they're building nuclear weapons is specifically to deter the U. S.
When you talk about deranged radical fanatics, how the hell would you know? You don't know they're deranged, you don't know they're radicals, and you don't know they're fanatics because you haven't spoken to them and you're not likely to. You just like to sound like you know what you're talking about, but you're not fooling anybody. You know nothing. - 2 mo
@msc545. I Can’t have a conversation with you because you know everything already. You even know who I am and who I talk with… you know everything I know. If you were here, I would bow down before you.
Now the truth. People like you will never grow wiser because you don’t listen you just like to hear yourself trying to prove how smart you are. It’s not working. - 2 mo
You cannot have a conversation with me because I keep calling you out on your arrogance and assumption that you know what people are going to do. You don't really know. You just think you know, and you believe all the propaganda that the US government shoves down your throat and up your ass as well.

3 moIran's economy is held together by the business of warfare. They need nukes for the longevity of this business design, they will put any resources necessary into rebuilding their programs and probably have all sorts of plans for these types of situations.
It would be like McDonald's not having a plan for if potatoes got really hard to grow out of nowhere.
Or if a shampoo brand didn't have alternate recipes in case something becomes infeasable (which they do that)
02 Reply- 2 mo
Can you explain what war trading is? Everyone thinks they know everything. (this is ignorance)
- 2 mo
It's the interplay of how war effects the world economy.
I guess one good example would be Somali pirates. Some of them are fighting against the oil companies drilling there so they blow up rigs and shoot at workers. The oil companies need protection. This situation has taken a nontrivial part of how private militias work today. Many companies will hire ex special forces leaders to take charge. Certain weapons are available to these companies.
Another example would be Venezuela. A government might weaken another countries economy in order to make a leader look weak then we have support to take over with military force, then a new leader is installed with more favorable views. In this situation the economy has been shaped mostly because of the military. And the companies who work with politicians to help carry out these plans all have members of military forces in their decision-making ranks.
It's an extremely complicated topic and really that just scratches the surface.

Whenever they start building something, we will bomb it. Bom bom bom bom bom iran. Like that Beach boys song. We'll just keep on bombing them. We have plenty of bombs in stock.

Ok you're obviously one of those people who believe only what they want to believe. I won't waste any more time with you. However, I do have a piece of advice... Nature is merciless and only speaks in bottom lines. It dictates reality and cares nothing about your feelings and beliefs or anything else about you. So, it behooves you for you own survival to find out what reality is instead of clinging onto wishful delusions.
Trump didn't known how much nuclear facilities Iran have or Iran had rebuild them.

@couchgrass111 A centrifuge used to enrich Uranium to weapons grade can be built in much less time than that. That's the first step in the process. No one has said that Iran HAS nuclear weapons, but that they are DEVELOPING them. And those attacks did it affect Iran's missile program, which can be used to deliver nuclear weapons.
- 3 mo
Can you explain in detail how it can be built in a very short time? You seem to know how to build a nuclear power plant. :D
- 3 mo
@couchgrass111 Not a complete power plant, a centrifuge. Uranium ore mined from the ground is not good enough to be used in a weapon. It has to be refined and purified, and the machine used to do that is a centrifuge. The Uranium ore goes through the centrifuge many times, spun around so that the heavier Uranium atoms move to the outside edge of the centrifuge, until it is pure enough to support nuclear fission. For the Manhattan Project in WWII, processing centrifuge systems were built and started refining Uranium ore in a matter of months, not years.
- 2 mo
I think they're trying to cover up Trump's gaffe with a centrifuge. I've heard a lot about these centrifuges. I'm not saying Iran will absolutely not build nuclear weapons but the US always goes to war under these kinds of pretexts, then takes the oil from the Middle East and leaves.
- 2 mo
